This is sort of an open ended question. Have any of Bel Ami’s ex models given interviews or have they shared any insights on BA’s inner workings? Do they regret ever doing porn or has it helped their careers?
I guess I’m genuinely curious to know more about how Bel Ami operates as a business and how it’s viewed by the models and surrounding society—how does BA find models, how do they train them, what is the grooming process like, is it sketchy / is it ethical, how long does training take, do the boys feel protected, are they exploited, are the boys subjected to abuse, is there escorting, are there drugs, etc.
I know that during the late 90s/early 2000s (a bit before the explosion of digital video sales) I'd seen several of the early BelAmi stars talking about how George had very lengthy conversations with them about the business, money, and how the decision of partaking in porn could be problematic if they ever decided to run for president and stuff like that. Things were explained in detail and they were not showing up for a casting session thinking it was just regular modeling; they knew it was adult stuff. What they did was leaving the decision to potential models as to what they were willing to do, so some guys preferred to just pose for pics or record solo sessions, and they respected that and never insisted they accepted to come back for hardcore sex. Some others even wanted to work for after performing in solos and the auditions, but were not approved by BelAmi be it because they didn't really have the look, or charisma, or else.
Several guys talk about friends referring them and others talk about scouts finding them in gyms and clubs. Not so long ago they talked about a guy that used to work for BelAmi in the past that introduced his son to the company so he could see if he wanted to be a performer there. All in all, I never heard anything sketchy about BelAmi. No wonder why they are still on the market after so many years and are still one of the top studios.
I know that when the models travel with them for work, they take care of absolutely everything. You can see that there's never been a single former model that talked shit about BelAmi.
George on the other hand was not shy to name names and say which models were troublemakers and even tried to get money from him even though they were not working for him anymore. But I won't get into details. That information is widely available online.
I know in 2011 there was a decent documentary about gay porn in East Europe, but felt like the focus was too narrow and I walked away feeling like I didn’t learn much. Plus would love to find something more recent!
Which documentary is that? I have rarely seen documentaries about gay porn. I'd be interested in taking a look. I know there has been a good amount of magazine articles, especially about how they shoot a lot of gay porn in Eastern Europe and about the G4P attitude. I read everything I came across but never anything that made me go "oh, this is such a great piece of reporting that it's worth archiving." It's more or less always the same story "they do it for the fast money," "they work in the field for a year and never come back," etc.
BelAmi has had some of the hottest young studs in gay porn history who must have all drank the same well water since birth leaving 90 percent of all models with extremely large appendages. It’s almost laughable at times. Totally bizarre. And there sets and shoots take place in the most luxurious settings , whether perfect castles in the countryside, luxurious condos in Prague and other locations only the very wealthy could afford yet apparently a BelAmi model has the financial means. South African getaways, first class trips to one of the founders stunning villas dotted around the world, the one in Bali situated with the most fabulous views and gorgeous infinity pool a particular favorite, the Greek Islands and so on and so on and so on. Of course the hugely hunk models who go on these trips pay for them by filming several hard core scenes with each other at each Four Seasons Resort they may happen to be staying at that night. I say all this to make 2 points on the company. What I’ve described is just way too much, grossly over the top but loved by there more aged subscribers. The second point is this , this is one tight lipped operation and staffed by extremely rude and intimidating bully’s (at least that’s my experience) when you dare inquire about issues like , it’s 2023 and George Duroy the king has not made a post in his blog in at least 4 years nor has he interviewed any new models during that same time period. Where is George? They have a huge inventory of scenes never posted to their site. For a minimum of two years 9 out of 10 new scenes and models of the week have been at a minimum 5 to 10 years old! Yes it’s true. Just Google. I don’t subscribe, it’s very expensive , but I am seriously curious where the hundreds of thousands if not more dollars in Monthly subscription payments is going? If you’ve essentially padlocked the headquarters front door a rarely film anything new in years WHERE DOES ALL THE MONEY GO ? Does anyone care ? And again where’s the founder and head of the company ? Has he expired? Moved in with Elton John and his husband like some of his models do at their villa in Nice France? (Yes another villa). Anyway either the makings of a great book, a job for a amateur detective or as I believe a formal investigation by the Czech authorities. In no way does any of this pass the smell test. BTW this weeks model of the week Ian Fleming was with the site 10 plus years ago. He’s the “new model of the week?” Ok. Enough said.
What a bizarre comment.
Any actual proof about the "extremely rude and intimidating [sic] bully's" you brought up?
I also find this laughable: "I don’t subscribe, it’s very expensive." So why do you think you are entitled to an opinion about how they run their business? You don't even pay for it.
Sir, this is a porn company not a public service company.
The monthly subscription is probably going into producing MORE porn and profits are probably going into the owners' pockets. Nothing illegal about that. They are not using public funds. Get a grip.
Judging by your second post, I bet you're looking to pick up a fight.
Not gonna work. This is a post to talk about BelAmi and not how BelAmi manages its riches.
I remember one time they had a bi-racial rapper gay porn star they caused issues with the company. I think he was there rather briefly, but I seem to recall that Belami didn't like his behavior and not to mention he was from the states. So I think that was last time they had anybody from the US. I think it happened around 2012-2013...anybody remembers that one?
I don't think Austin caused issues for BelAmi. I think he had said some stupid things on social media or something. All in all, if you watch his scene with Jack Harrer and the other blonde American guy, you can tell he was really into fucking dudes because his curved penis is somewhat semi hard, after his fingers go into Jack's anus, he's stiffer and stiffer. He sucks and takes a load like a real champ. But American pornstars won't ever have the same class as the BelAmi guys. There were many, many collaborations with American performers and studios after Austin.
