I think that they can be hot on a man. I don't like them on a woman. I have my wife's name tatooed on my backside, just above my butt and plan to have a nice tatoo placed on my left pec above my heart--also with her name.

actually, tattoos on an already hot guy are a turn-on ... I'll change my vote

Yeah, I get that about the mustache, except Mona might look real hot with a well placed tribal tatt on her left side. Get her to drop her robes and I'll let you know. LOL

Ah look, Nick. It really is one of those 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' things. I'd be very disappointed to get you in bed only to find you couldn't get it up cuz you found my tatts off-putting. That's why we invented off switches on the lights! You'd just have to use your hands, etc to look at me.:biggrin1:

As for Rico: Dude, those koi are yours to lick!

Personally i love em IF done right, art looks great, crap that you put 3 minutes of thought into by picking one off the wall or that someone else has is a waste of time.

Over used designs such as shitty tribal armbands(kids dont know its origin), barbwire, butterflies, Koi fish, Dragons, company logos, etc etc.

THESE generally just advertise "Hey, you know what, im a sheep and got this to be fashionable", REAL art that is designed by yourself or the idea is fleshed out with an artist now THAT can look amazing.

Although more and more these days i see people with tatts that literally have made me groan out loud and walk away shaking my head.

My 2c

ps whomever said it was vandalism of the body or something similar, jump on front of a car please.

'k ... I'll change my vote!

Nick, While I agree with the statement that certain bods are works or art, I feel that there are times when tasteful tats enhance that beauty. I seen pics of Hellboys tats and am aware of the meaning behind the koi and dragon. His pics excite me more than looking at galleries of cocks, but then I'm about 180 degrees from being a size queen. Thus, I can get off by looking at a buff body with tats and just imagining having sex with the guy. (Several porn stars come to mind.) As I'm bi-, tramp stamps on women also turn me on.

Rico, I don't care what Hellboy says, you gotta get in line, bud! And that means kissing me by proxy.

Tattoos are usually ugly and unnatural, much like nasty unnatural contraceptives.

Why mutilate the human body that God created?

I'm not really sure about tattoos. I think they look good on some people, and horrible on others.

My main issue about tattoos, is that if you're going to get one, you should have it somewhere that can be covered by shorts and a short-sleeved shirt. Also, if you're a woman, you should get one strategically placed so that when you are wearing a formal dress or a swimsuit, that part of the tattoo isn't showing. I think it looks horrible when you see a woman wearing something backless or strapless and part of her tattoo is sticking out. Either it should be covered, or nice enough that if it shows when wearing a formal dress it doesn't look completely tacky.

The one thing that I really don't like is when women get tattoos on their lower leg or ankle. Something about it just seems really un-sophisticated. I'm not saying that I don't like women who have tattoos on their lower leg, I'm just saying that it doesn't look tasteful to me.

Neither of my parents have tattoos, and I don't think any of my aunts/uncles have tattoos, either. I believe my older cousin, Krystle, might have one, but if she does it is hidden. Tattoos are kind of one of those unspoken no-no's in my family. I'm not sure what my parents would say if I brought home a guy with visible tattoos (and the same goes for piercings).

I have been considering getting a tattoo on my lower back, but I'm afraid that if I do, it will either look horrible, or I'll wish in five years that I hadn't done it. Also, I think it might even drive me crazy. I can't stand to have anything even written on my hands. I like to be clean and look clean, and having ink on my skin just ruins that. So, I guess I really need more time to think about things before I commit to a tattoo!

thanx, dude! think you're great, as well!

...just saw your post, Nick and I agree with rico. Thanks for the rethink on the tatts. You don't HAVE to like them, but nice to know you thought about it.

Too bad I can't give you a private viewing..., with Rico and Primal as the MC's.

Successful tattoos tend to be on nice fit looking people who have created a unique tattoo that is cleverly thought through and genuinely meaningful to them

On flabby overweight people tattos can look awful and on women they can look as rough as fuck if they aren't tastefully done

Another example of sad tattoos is when they are clone like on the nightclub fascists

DUDE!!!!!!!! Where the hell have you been? I've been flashing my tatts looking for you but you haven't been anywhere in sight?

Awwww...I just love the sense of 'family' here... beauty is surely in the eye of the beholder. I come from an artiistic family. My brother changed his medium and became a skin artist and he awlays did free-hand work. People still comment positively on his work. I admit art is good and people like to express themselves through their body. Some work is spectacular...Tribal art is beautiful in the various regions of our amazing world.

As a foot note the Bible does not condone such skin treatment for its adhearers and calls it pagan...

I'm a tattoo fan. There is certainly a bad way to do a tat. But there are some that are well placed, well designed, and well done. And then again there are also some people who just don't pull them off well, just because they are them. The right woman with the right tattoo/s? That just draws me in to this amazing intrigue and awe. At times it almost seems to create some sort of feeling of immediate intimacy. The hopes, dreams, memories, loves, hates, passions, all on display for you take in. Baring it self to you. That is sexy. I have three right now, often want more. Would like a shoulder sleeve at some point and maybe more.

I have a large tattoo of an anatomically correct centaur on my left delt (you can see it in my profile pics). The centaur (half man-half horse) was a Greek symbol of the beastial nature in man: his strength, power, agression and sexuality). Chiron was the centaur who was tutor of the warrior Achilles.

Its a personal thing...

but I fear that the young folks who get them have very little idea what happens to them over time. They bleed, they spread, they blur, they fade.

Especially so in the case of the young... whose skin cells are still dividing at a prodigious rate. Young people's tats blur much faster than a new tat on 40 year old.

It saddens me to see some of the things that lovely young people do in the form of tattoos that simply can not be concealed. Facial tattoos, up and down their arms... Either it becomes an embarrassment as their tastes and perspectives mature... or it become an anchor that holds them to a set of perspectives they had at 18 that seem pitiful when exhibited by someone in their forties... preventing them from growing because they have a billboard on their body...

And too much of it is being done because its being done. When EVERY young woman has a tramp stamp on their lower back... where's the personality?

Like most young folks, they want desperately to be different... in exactly the same way as their peers...
Nothing new, nothing unique... just a new uniform for the next generation.

that being said...

Done discreetly... they can be cool.

I saw a guy once who had tattooed in bold face letters, right where is pubic hair would grow back "SUCK IT"... I could just imagine looking down the shaft at that while doing that very thing.

And, when he was way too old for that tat to make much sense... he could just let the hair grow back and cover it up....

Hate 'em, and any other irreversible modifications.
