Pariet 20Mg (Rabeprazole) - for reflux.

Rabeprazole - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'll probably need it forever because I have something called Barrett's Oesophagus - my symptoms are nowhere near as serious as the one's mentioned in the linked article, but my doc thinks I should have a gastroscopy every two years to keep an eye on it.

WARNING! Article has icky piccies!
Barrett's esophagus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My obesity exacerbates it, so my doc also wants me to lose weight.

My only regular medication is the Implanon implant in my arm (anti-baby hormones).

I've taken a few courses of antibiotics (averages out to about one course a year/18 months) for an infected sebaceous cyst on my buttcrack, a kidney infection and a minor lady drama. Looks like all my issues occur below the waist! The first two also required liberal doses of OTC painkillers.

Ouch! Yeah, I know a few people who have Barrett's Esophagus. From what I understand, it's basically pre-cancerous changes to the lining of the esophagus. Here's to hoping that everything goes well with you.

BTW, Raberprazole is marketed as "Aciphex" in the US. Say that three times fast. :biggrin1:

I'm not on any prescribed medication. I take Excedrin when I have a headache, Aleve when I have muscle pain and NyQuill when I have a cold or flu to sleep at night. I lied I have a script for a chill pill when I fly.

I try really hard to stay away from virtually all pills, but I too like to keep Excedrin around for my headachey days. But they pulled all the Excedrin off the market, something about little pieces of the other pills that company makes (Gas-X was one) mixing in with the rest of their pills, and so I'm wondering if anybody knows when they may start selling it again? I have one left, saving it for an "oh my God I am going to go on a murderous rampage because of this headache" moment that I hope never happens. I'm sure this sleepy little mountain town wishes the same thing...

Other than that, well it's 4:20 here, does that count? LOL :bongsmi:

I'm really shocked you don't have Excedrin to buy. They did the recall in NY and Hawaii and if your bottle did not have the product lot code you did not have any worries. I double checked mine and all pills had the big "E" on them. I bought mine at Costco in Honolulu and the other bottle at Costco in NYC. Check the website at Excedrin.com (if such a site actually exists) It's been months; all should be fine.

I've checked grocery stores where I live (small town) and Grand Junction (medium-sized town not too far away) and still don't see any. I know I could buy some generic and may do so, but I've been happy with the way excedrin works. Their website led to a link here which seems to indicate the recall is still active.

None up until last August when I had emergency heart surgery: 4x CABG.

Since then:

Lipitor
Coreg
Lisinopril
81 mg aspirin

Lots of healthy food, and good excercise.
I am doing very well, by the way. A complete recovery and feel 20 years younger and 30 pounds lighter.

I don't recommend it for motivation though. The lifeflight chopper might not be handy.
