What finally made you decide to get boxers?

I find most of what this gentleman says to be more in line with the growing trend back to more fitting underwear again now, including some of the more logical rationale behind it:

I never made a switch to boxers, and never will... Why any guy would wear them is a mystery to me. Briefs support your balls, the make a bulge which boxers don't, and they look hot. I do not agree that briefs are little boys underwear. In fact, if we were thoughtful about it, and HAD to wear two different styles, little boys should wear boxers when they don't need the support, but switch to briefs when their balls drop and grow. Still, it'd be best if all guys wore briefs all the time.
Seen a guy in boxers in the locker room? boring. Seen a guy working out in big ol' basketball shorts with boxers underneath? Boring. No bulge; nuthin.' Seen a guy with a bulge in his briefs or jockstrap? HOT.
There's been a lot written on this topic cuz guys love what's next to our balls. I say Get rid of boxers and go back to real men's underwear: BRIEFS!

Again some of this above is so very well said, and the trend is definitely going back, I saw so many ads this holiday season where more form fitting underwear (briefs, boxer-briefs, etc. in all their various forms) were far more featured in ads than old fad-fading 1990s boxers. The most recent challenge to briefs (in all their form-fitting variations, including boxer-briefs, etc.) by boxers actually began as a part of the trend of the grunge and rapper fads of the 1990s, (which also included greasy non-showered hair and baggy not-fitting-properly-at-all grungy looking clothes). Like all too many unfortunate fashion fads they can take a while to die out and everyone to get the message that what was cool a decade or more ago is very much not anymore, and what was once considered out is now very much back in again:

I think it was when I started my first practice and wore linen slacks to the office everyday. It just seemed like the right combination. Now it's freeball or boxer-briefs although all of my boxer-briefs have been in the laundry for a week, it's been below 0ºF so I've been wearing my boxers. lol...I wear boxer breifs exclusively. I don't find breifs to be a turn off. Really i think underwear is underwear, but i don't think that just anyone can pull off the briefs. i think you could have a made him switch to boxers yourself. You made a mountain out of a mole hill here. They're fucking underwear for christ sake. you could have bought him some boxers as a hint and i bet there would be little discussion.

i wore boxers exclusively throughout high school and much of college, except for during athletic situations.
now I favor boxer-briefs for support. as long as you don't let the bush grow out of hand the overheating isn't an issue. for lounging I have some looser boxer-briefs that let me hang but are still a nice supima cotton fabric, or else boxers.

When I go out in public I wear boxer-briefs because they keep the bulge more consistently in place and prevent accidental "squashing' of the nuts. also they tend to be made of softer and more comfortable fabric, which is a plus.

Oh yeah, the question goes to guys who prefer boxers to briefs.

I do sometimes wear briefs for variety but usually wear boxers. At first I tried them out of curiosity, but couldn't wear them because with my dick hanging freely it felt like I had nothing on, making me hard. But eventually I found the free feeling very comfortable and natural.

I find this interesting though because women don't typically seem to like boxers, because they aren't as revealing. Why do you prefer them?

I'm a 4 year boxer guy formerly a full time briefs wearer. This morning I put on a pair of white briefs with my track pants just to give the other side a chance. After 10 minutes, I had to remove the briefs. Even though they were a size larger than I wear, they felt confining with my dick and balls held closely to the torso. I tried on a pair of black boxer briefs. They were okay for about 5 minutes, but I don't find the seams from the fly running over my dick and balls to be comfortable. I'll keep the knit underwear around for bedroom sports, but I couldn't wear them for an entire day.

As far as the boxers bunching up, I've found that it depends a great deal on what kind of boxers that you buy. I choose lightweight boxers that are more pliable than boxers made from stiff, heavy fabric. Virtually the same comfort as freeballing with a thin layer of comfortable fabric between you and your outerwear. Different strokes for different folks!

I used to wear briefs but they were just way too confining. My balls actually would ache. Since I hang quite a bit when soft then I chose not to go with boxers and go with boxer briefs. One of the best decisions I've made. They give me perfect support and comfort. Boxers are nice but I flop around way too much and I'm too shy to go out in public like that.

I don't know where the idea came from that "all" women think briefs are ugly!?!? I agree with the thought that a man with a wide variety of undies is smart. I think alot of boxers look like used dish rags and find them to be a big turn off! This is exactly my experience. I'm spoiled with hanging loose and love feeling my dick move around. It took about 2 - 3 weeks to get used to boxers and not being strapped up; now there is no going back.
