Live plants. Something attached to good fortune and long life.

Easy care, since most positive vibe plants are, would handle any shipping well. Would require very little effort on her part. Bonus of her getting a you-related smile when she sees the gift.

Cut flowers give me the sad.

Personal favorite green thing of the moment..

+1 to the live plant unless you know she won't want to care for it. FTD has a bonsai gardenia... I luuuuuuurve the smell of gardenias.:heart_eyes::heart_eyes: If you were buying for me, that would make me very, very happy every time I got a whiff.

If you definitely want cut flowers, I'd go with either bright happy colors or sunflowers... and you can say she's always been a bright spot in your thoughts.

She's a plant freak actually. But I don't know she has or likes.

I looked on 1-800 and FTD and I couldn't find plants.

Lemme look again.

If she's a plant freak, like me, don't worry too much about whether or not it's a flowering plant, but it's always a plus.

I prefer orchids, but for someone who's just into plants in general I'd go with some kind of succulent maybe? Easy to care for in general and most of them make their own flowers.

Also, I don't mind receiving a plant I already have one or a few of. I fuckin love plants.

Lovely to see you posting, btw

I’d want a plant that might be outside my budget, or one I keep putting off.
Peruvian torch cactus. San Pedro, fancy aloes (I only get the kitchen cure all types, never the pretties), I’m in love with my rattlesnake plant. image.jpg

I'm going with an orchid. Looks classy and what not.

Thanks y'all.

I do love orchids, they're not like every other houseplant. Not that they're harder to care for, to me they're actually easier.. they're just unique and evolutionarily intriguing as fuck. Beautiful flowers are just a bonus to me.

You're more than welcome ❤️

Ordered... Are orchids constantly in bloom or are they just a green stalk tied to a stick some of the time?

It depends on the type of orchid, if it's a complex hybrid Phaleanopsis (which is the most available type) once the flowers fall generally you can cut the stem and it should rebloom after a cooling off period in the fall (55° - 62° nights for about a week). But if it's a species/summer bloomer you won't wanna cut the stem because they're sequential bloomers.

Feel free to link me to whatever kind of orchid you got and I can tell ya about it.

And just for the sake of being helpful, even is it's not in bloom, if she's into plants the way plant people tend to be, she will probably be super happy to get a living plant... And being one that gives flowers is a huge bonus.

Most of my orchid collection, I purchased before it produced flowers, or right after its flowers fell and it went on sale. So, just sayin.. if she's anything like me she will be happy to get this plant no matter if it's currently in bloom or not.

If she's interested in care tips, this is where I learned a whole lot about orchids.
