I found very little material on the Internet about Marcus' life. He was very reserved and gave almost no interview during his active life in porn. However, he gave a long radio interview when he retired:

He was emphatic that since childhood he knew he was gay. He had his first sexual experience as a teenager, as a Top, in a camp. The other boy ended up telling the local councilors, who communicated the boys' parents. According to him, his parents were very conservative, they never talked about this "episode" and they never asked about his sexuality again, with that "don't ask, don't tell" law.
He lived alone practically since high school (from what I could see, he didn't have a good relationship with his family). He says he only bottomed when he was 25, 2 years before he entered pornography. But he confesses that he considers himself a versatile and that he does not have a preferred sexual position in his personal life. In fact, he seems to be very open-minded and says in the interview that every top is also a bottom, and that anyone who says the opposite has prejudice and problems with their own sexuality.
He is a descendant of Cubans and Puerto Ricans, and made it clear that his family never knew about his career in the porn industry (with the exception of a gay cousin - who discovered it when he became best known and kept it a secret). According to him, his parents with whom he did not have very close contact, believed that he worked as a commercial representative of the pharmaceutical industry, working with food supplements (and that he even had a fake badge to support the lie). And apparently, it was not an "open thing" even for close friends.
Living in New York, he says he did not usually go to gay environments and that he did not have many friends in the "métier". During university, he was approached at gym to do events for an agency and agreed for the money. He even made a extra in the movie Sex and The City 2 by that agency. He eventualy was invited to dance as a Go Go Boy in a club, and there, he was invited to make pornographic films. He confesses that he had no trouble accepting it and that from a dancing career to an invitation to to porn, it was just a few months. (He did not comment if he graduated from college or which course he attended).
He attributed his rapid success and the large number of work in such short time for his easy going personality and his professionalism ("I'm not a bitchy"). The producers liked to work with him and the invitations were many, because he just showed up. He says that the porn industry is very volatile and the actors are problematic.
He was active only from 2012 to 2014, and that when he retired, at 29 years old, more than 40 scenes were already recorded, being released in the following years (the last in 2017).
When asked what he thought of "Gay-for-pay" he said he didn't believe it. According to Ruhl, the man who has sex with other men, even for money, is already interested and is only using it as an excuse for not accepting his more fluid sexuality. According to him, it is a "psychological justification" for exploring a homoaffective attraction, which he says "being born with the you".
Marcus says he started to wear out with the industry when episodes of actors who contracted HIV emerged and the continuous call for barebacking, but without conducting tests on the actors, exposing them to risks. He tells an event in which he demanded the negative test of the other actor, which hadn't been tested in a long time, resulting in him refusing to do the scene. He fired his agent, because he lied that was checking this type of thing.
In addition, he says that even with all the care, every month, when taking his results, he was very anxious and apprehensive.
And when a great friend discovered that he was a porn actor, and shut him down, Ruhl says he went into depression, and that it was quite common for "normal" people to end their friendship with him for the same reason. So he decided to take new paths, without lies, because he also knew that this career was very short-lived.
He, who claims to be very romantic and shy, was very weary with the recordings, which lasted up to 7 hours to make a 20-minute scene, and tired of the constant travels (he says he spent 2 months traveling and recording, without going back home).
Then, in 2014 he opened an LGBT bar in New York (Icon Astoria) and decided to dedicate himself to a full time entrepreneurship. Ruhl says he is very grateful to his career, that he was always lucky to have worked with wonderful people and that porn make him achieved everything he has (he even won $ 7500.00 per scene). He doesn't say he's sorry, but he claims that the porn world is part of his past.
He does not rule out a return, but says it is very unlikely.
He seemed sincere in his words and seems to be a very reserved and well-articulated person.
