Simp - Wikipedia

Above is the wiki entry for simp. We all know what a simp is and we've all probably been a simp at some point, but what would happen of it stopped? What would happen to the world of dating, the internet and the economy if men stopped simping?

Would the world be better off? Would men and women be better off? Tell me what you think.

"Would the world be better off if men stopped showing affection for their partners?" LOL

LOL Showing affection for your partner isn't simping. Simps aren't the partners of the women they simp for. Simps at best are what PUA's would call beta-orbiters/nice guys who throw money, attention and compliments at the women they long for.

I don't think it's really a thing outside of men use it as a new insult, in the old days they would call a guy "pussy whipped" but now they call him a "simp" for respecting and valuing a partner.

I'm of the mind that it's unhealthy and ungentlemanly to resort to name calling, like simp or pussy whipped. It shows weakness on the name caller more than on the subject of the insult. It's also true that women won't respect you, and you won't respect yourself, if you're not the boss in your own home or if you fawn over her like a needy puppy.

He's not a simp. He just loves his wife. Although, being too into your wife can be simp behavior, just not wanting to lose her seems normal to me.

Here is a video about what it means to be a simp.

The idea of Russell Wilson being a simp stems much more from the surrounding circumstances of his and Ciara's relationship than his devotion to her. Im not in a position to judge but I could see the argument from either side.
I think the idea of men stopping simping is as practical and realistic as a Lysistratan strike. That even if one can make a valid argument that certain negative behaviors and strategies can be curtailed by no longer positively reinforcing them, there will always be women whom are quite happy to sleep with and bear children to shitty men, and that there will always be men willing to devote their energies, attentions and income to disinterested and/or toxic women.

Good questions.

Some of my male friends were in Sweden and they said that this is the other way around in the clubs there. A lot of women make the first step and talk to the men in the clubs and they think that is better.

The topic of the first step in the mating process is something, where women are privileged and men have a disadvantage. Men have to make the first step in society or are expected to make the first step. So there are usually more male simps than female simps, because females dont have to do that. total equality would mean equal responsibility, in my opinion. The mating ritual should be more balanced so that there are as many women that do that as there are men.

Maybe we should make quotas for that. Than men would be as annoyed about some women as women are about some men, that approach them.

Unrelated, or maybe not, from what I understand the progressive gender dynamics of Scandinavia are prompting a lot of men to seek foreign wives...which may explain why some Scandinavian women are being a little more forthcoming.

I think there's more nuance to this but I get the sentiment.

This notion is flipping insane...lol

Incremental steps are the key not mandates or quotas, and I think the Swedish example is somewhat of an ideal demonstration of such. Women gain agency and autonomy which allows them to be more selective in their romantic choices, many men whose romantic/sexual strategies counted on social pressure and a sense of entitlement werent keen on initiating interest for this more selective group, so they opted instead for foreign women accustomed to a more traditional gender dynamic, women whose tastes skewed domestic were finding swedish men becoming more scarce, and thus became a little more assertive in expressing interest, my guess is the male population will respond in kind by compromising the traditional gender dynamic which brought them comfort for a more progressive one as it comes with the benefit of more local options with shared heritage and culture, that this time are not just content to be pursued but prone to being the pursuers.

Yeah here in America men make the “approach “ if you will. That’s the general default system here

but surely not eched in stone. There are women who make approach, happenstance meet , friend introductions .etc

but for a moment let’s pretend it’s always guy approach

There are good and bad to each of these. It’s like a job interview

Yes the employer gets to sit back and judge you and make the decision. And if you have ever been on that end (dating and employer) is a lot of fun and you can get a bit full of yourself (a bit drunk on the power if you will)

Gowever that fun really goes away when you have no qualified applicants to fill a slot, or worse no applicants at all. Or so many applicants bothering you to fill a position that you already filled that you can’t get anything done. Or fill up you email/ messages Wii’s offers

however as the applicant/ approacher YOU get to choose who the players in the dance will be.approacher picks the candidates ... the approched decides the results

I have a lot of female friends we have gone out to the night spot before and no one gives her a second look, conversely we have been bombarded by dude after dude after dude to the point where we couldn’t finish a convo

that never happens to me. When I want to be alone I chill and when I want something I make it happen ... no waiting around for me

so there ups and downs to each side
