Why do women love to recieve text messages?

Not messages on answering machines, and not emails... maybe hidden notes, but that usually only happens in relationships. sometimes a comment on myspace or facebook

but always, always love the text message.

What makes the text message so different as a form of "thinking of you"?

    Hey New End -
Good point. I have noticed this as well and have been surprised by the immediacy women love about a text. One of my exes blew my phone up with texts to the point of two hundred bucks over my plan in a month.
But I also did the e-mail thing, actual handwritten letters sent with her fav. cologne on me (Abercrombie) on the paper of the letter with a stamp and a trip to the post office and even notes hidden in her suitcase or bags that she did not know about until unpacking.
I always thought she sent me texts so i would text back since her phone was strapped to her clit and set on vibrate. lol!

I always thought it was guys who were obsessed with texting and phones in general. I got a new phone about a year ago only because the old nokia I had had given up the ghost, but lots of men change their phone a couple of times a year because they have to have the latest one. I use my mobile for emergencies, if I'm out it gives me the assurance that everything with all my family is ok otherwise they'd have contacted me.

It's simple. Women want to be thought about... and when you send a text, we know you think about us during the day at different times and not just when you're in front of your computer screen.

I hardly ever use mine but if I leave the house without it I'm always convinced the kids (who are in their 20s) have cooked chips and burned the house down :) I can't use my phone properly I threw the instruction book away cos it was getting on my nerves.

Because with a text you get it instantly and know he is thinking of you at that EXACT moment, not hours before you got online or checked your machine. Knowing a random text means he is thinking about you even when were not together.

Its a girly thing i guess

Text is personal, not a mass emailing and is closer to receiving a personal letter.

I have never sent a text message, I don't even want to know how to send one.

I <3 receiving a text or a pin to my blackberry; lets me know I'm on his mind.
Plus, it sorta primes me for later or the next time we see each other.

It's instant.. and appropriate for us to pull out our cell and show all our friends.

    I love to "txt"

Well not really, its just really easy to send little things quickly or chat with someone who is in a place where they should not be talking to friends/family. (Work?)

Regarding what it is with Claire and text messaging, I can tell you

    DON'T!
Call me up, chat me up in the hallway, leave me a note at my desk: Do whatever suits you best, but do never send me a text message, and don't use text message shorthand either. I guess that shouldn't be too old-fashioned.

A text as a quick note, used sparingly, is welcome.

Use it to carry on conversations, I will become irritated.

This is true. I had to stop one of the guys from here from texting me pics of his cock at 3AM. I almost always have my cell on vibrate but when it vibrates on my nightstand it wakes me up. Quite annoying when it's someone I don't even know in real life. It's like great, you woke me up to show me a cock 1,500 miles away! This does me no good.:frown1: So then I'm awake and sexually frustrated.:tongue:

LOL That was a funny post NJQT. I use to do that kind of stuff to my ex when i would away from her, but going to visit in like a day or so. She said it got her all hot thats the only reason i did it, is because she enjoyed it.

As far as text messaging i jst got a qwerty key pad when i was available for an update so it doesnt bug me as much as it did when i was without

Um... I wasn't aware that women had a "thing" with text messaging.
