Many people have asked me to define "sex magic." I think it would be impossible to reach a really simple definition, but it's an excellent question nonetheless!
To my mind, the best synonyms for magic are "transformation" and "evolution." Magic is the opposite of inertia. What is inertia but the tendency to stay the same, to stop growing, to stop changing, to stop improving oneself?
Why would one want to improve oneself? I can think of three reasons: for one's own satisfaction, for the increased satisfaction of one's partner/s, and for the good of all. Self-improvement is never harmful; real magic has absolutely nothing to do with harm!
True magic is always about positive SELF-transformation, not about trying to manipulate or control others. However, when we devote ourselves to positive self-transformation, that positive energy often rubs off on others; people see how we have improved ourselves and they are inspired to do the same! I think it's cool how that works...
For the most part, people who enjoy healthy relationships and healthy sex lives are energetic, positive, and upbeat. They emanate positive energy! Unfortunately, in this day and age a lot of people are depressed. Happy, positive, energetic people are appreciated most everywhere they go!
My hope is that more people will undertake the study and practice of sex magic. In my experience, sex magicians are exponentially healthier, happier, and more energetic than the "average joe."
Lessons in sex magic can be found in virtually every spiritual tradition. I have resonated more with the spiritual traditions of my own ancestors, but that is not necessarily the case with everyone.
I'd be curious to know other members' opinions on this topic...
