You want to get "super freak shredded" without losing muscle.... In 8 weeks.
Sorry.... There isn't any miracle diet that's going to give you the results I think you're looking for.
Genetics, body type, age, gender, starting point, metabolism.... They all play a factor in your results.
If it was easy, everybody would do it.
No pill, no powder, no gimmick, not even drugs can match years of hard work.
But, to at least address your question,...
Best approach would be: keep protein intake high, to preserve muscle.
Shun the cardio in favor of the weights.
NO SUGAR.
Garbage carbs need to go.... Breads, pasta, cakes, cookies, etc.
Be consistent.
Your effort will determine your results.
No alcohol.
Judge your progress by the mirror and how your clothes fit.... Not the scale.
Lastly, every person responds to training/diet differently.
What I do won't work for most people.
What somebody else does won't work for me.
Your body is like a combination lock.
You have to find out what your combo is to unlock it's potential.

If I were truly motivated, I might try to go vegan.

As a former vegetarian and someone who has deeply researched diet for 45 years, I have to say that this will not work for the OP's goal.
To get enough protein on a vegan diet, you will of necessity be eating lots of carbs. Think beans, tofu, rice, etc. The basics of vegan protein but also heavy on the carbs.
I suppose you could eat a pound of nuts everyday but that seems like an extreme direction.

This is the one I have contemplating but , and I am serious, I enjoy great bowel movements. I am worried this will stop them. Not enough fiber. Did you use this? How did it go?

I did use the program and relied on sugar-free Metamucil or psyllium husk to keep things moving.

The program went well. All the weighing of foods and figuring out calories went a long way towards teaching me how to estimate the calorie content of foods after I was done with the program.

So not only did I drop a bunch of fat and get the leanest I'd been in my life up to that point, I also learned skills related to eating that I use every day.

Was that enough to "get things moving" though? I need at least 30 grams of fiber. That's 10 servings of Metamucil. How much did you take?

Thank you for saying this. There has been a lot of vegan propaganda as of late (i.e. the GAME CHANGERS movie, etc) but in reality meat is the most ancient food so it is kind of silly to blame meat for modern illness. It is much more likely that modern illness can be attributed to the combination of very high refined carbohydrates combined with Omega-6 fats "seed oils" such as soybean oil, safflower oil, rapeseed oil and canola oil.

Meat has the amino acids you need and also in the proper proportions your body needs. Can you substitute it with tons of beans + grains to meet your protein needs? Yes, but you will be not only raising your calories but raising your insulin response to meals as well.

I find this 100% effective for cutting quick after a bulk and routinely can lose 2kg a week on it. It's tough but works. I lost 20kg in 10 weeks last year on it after bulking up 30kg.

DIET/TRAINING PLAN - 1650 cal

7AM (fasted)
30-40min stairmaster or incline walk

8AM
Omlette with:
5 egg whites
1 whole egg
herbs and chives

11AM
170g chicken breast
30g cashews
160g green veg

2PM
170g chicken breast
150g cucumber

5PM
170g chicken breast
160g green veg

WORKOUT
45 min hypertrophy
30 min stairmaster/incline walk

8PM
225g meat/white fish
150g green veg

BED
Oatmeal 40g
1/2 scoop lean bulk protein powder
Cinnamon
Stevia

Supplements:

Multivit (Inessa a good one)
Potassium (helps with cramps)
L-carnitine
Amino acids
High EHA Omega 3
Creatine

NOTES
- 1 cheat meal allowed every 3 weeks - no more than 1500 cal.
- No alcohol
- When you get close to the result you want don't slow down keep going another week or so then reverse diet

KEEPING YOUR RESULTS
When you are ready to stop, REVERSE DIET or you will put it all back on very quick. To reverse diet, keep on this diet and training plan and gradually add more 'good' carbs and fats, with total calorie increase no more than +200 a week. When you get back to "normal" calories start adding tiny bits of sugar until you are used to it again, e.g. 1 chocolate a day etc.

Thanks you too man!

It's strict but it works - cutting is one of those things where 80% discipline gets you nothing, 90% discipline gets you 50% of the result you want, and 100% discipline gets you everything.

Also all the cardio I do with the iPad on so it's my TV time.

About to start doing it again for the summer, should only take 3-4 weeks to get the shreds back with this.

Even for my current fairly ordinary fat loss (not weight loss) goal, vegan would not work because of carbs.

Partly just the carbs, but also some people cannot digest starches and sugars well at all and the bloat and water retention ruin it. The last thing a real bodybuilder would want is bloat and water retention.

I don't mean losing a lot of weight I mean going from freak to super freak. I want to get super shredded but want to preserve muscle. From personal experience, what is the best diet for this? Also, health concerns on diet don't matter. This will be 8 weeks max.
it really depends on your body type and metabolism...short bursts of cardio help speed things up, too..especially if youre over 40
