now, I've been married for a long time., 40+ yrs. I do get out and socialize once in awhile. the other day, I got to thinking what if my wife passed away, would I date again??? lots of pretty women around. but the more I'm around them, the more I am not interested for various reasons. seems like there is too much drama, and we are all carrying too much "baggage" from out pasts.

Just curious what you find to be the most frustrating thing about dating (dating women)? And maybe your hacks around it?

thanks!

Dating is all about perspective and what you want to get out of it. I'm not dating at the moment because I am heavily invested in growing my career. However, when I am dating I always treat it as a self contained experience and not a means to an end. What I mean by this is that a date for me is bringing someone along to something that I already want to do myself. This could be trying out a new restaurant, going to a game, trying something new, etc. Doing this removes all the pressure from the situation which will lead to a far better experience for both you and your date. The beauty of this is you have nothing to lose. I have made many female friends this way and it is also how I have met many partners both long term and just casual. If you are compromising and sacrificing on first or early dates in order to impress someone you aren't doing it right. All that you would be doing is cheating yourself and the other person.
