kracken: Mine came from a character I created for a role playing game. A fighting monk named after a mythical beast.

A long, long time ago in computer years, and back when I was even geekier than I am now, there were MUDs and talkers -- many popular talkers used Ewtoo, a command-based talker that allowed for people to add to the computer's vocabulary, so that over time, the range of commands on a well-populated talker could become immense (well, by the standards of the time.)

One command that was 'built-in' to Ewtoo code was 'mindseye', which allowed you to see who was visiting your room (kinda like reading your profile on here) even if you weren't in your room.

Well A-Rod is one of my favorite baseball players and I just thought it appropriate since this is a site for everyone to talk about their rods. I have been able to use it on every incarnation of this board. Although I am more of a lurker than a poster, I have been around for a couple of years.

I've been using headbang since I first made the step from word processor to PC.

IT-wise, 1991 was a more innocent time. Our office was installing its first (gasp!) networked computer. It was to be mine, since I was young and my mind was agile enough to adapt to this mysterious new contraption. They designated me the "Alpha User" in my workgroup. (Nowadays, of course, I know that I was actually a beta user--a guinea pig)

The IT manager set it up for me...this was so long ago that I think he was called an EDP manager. The final stroke before I could go "onto the net" was a password of 8 characters. Wanting to randomise the process, I decided to pull a word out of a book at random, and so reached for one on the shelf. That book turned out to be The Oxford Dictionary of New Words , a companion volume of words that were in use but hadn't quite cracked it into the OED.

Opening the volume approximately in the middle and closing my eyes, the dictionary entry I landed on was headbanger .

"Hmmm...that's ten letters," pondered the IT guy, "But we could do headbang "

I've used headbang as a net-name ever since.

Hapi Papi: I know I've mentioned it somewhere on here but I doubt it exists anymore...

My memory fails me for some parts so if I'm wrong and you remember, forgive me.

I first registered here using H8Monga as a screen name. That name was part of a screen name I had, ThaH8Monga, which came about in my first year in college. Actually that was before I found instant message programs and before I even really knew how to do anything online except the school's e-mail. I refered to myself as Tha H8 Monga in an e-mail to one of the guys in the dorm he said I hated everything which actually was just things I swore I wouldn't do and I hated that people did them (premarital sex, underage drinking, smoking, drug use... etc). Two years later, when some friends and I would have warning wars on AIM using various screen names, I chose that as one of them. When signing on here, I intended to be anonymous. I didn't want to use names I'd used elsewhere online so I picked one of my screen names (which numbered over 100 when I registered here March 19 last year) that I didn't use often. There was no intent to spread hate or anything and really I hoped to have people think the 8 meant something else... but then I read some of the stuff here that lit a fire under me... which lit other fires.

BigBoyDave (isn't that his name?) told me to pick a more positive name in effort to help me think more positively. Somehow I came up with Hapi Papi... I was thinking of a Flintstone episode with Wilma singing, Make your hubby happy/Keep your hubby happy/When he's a little chubby/He's a happy pappy/With Rockenspiel!
So I had the word "happy" modified to match "papi" which I thought would be a positive thing to call myself.

Other times I know I changed my name to either or both Chubby-Sexy and Sexy-Chubby or some variation. That was short lived. That's what I was apologizing about because I can't remember how the name was written. That was based on an article about chubby guys being sexy... something else I thought would be a positive. Now if it can be proven to me....

That's my story. More detailed than last time.

HI Guys!

Keep it coming! What I love about this thread is that it is to a degree introspective and lets us know a little bit about you and how you process. I am so excited that even some of you that lurk most of the time are chiming in.Don't let it be a one time thing!

mentatzps: My screen name is quite easy to explain, though no one could guess it...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First we have to cut "mentatzps" in two : Mentat and ZPS.

* "Mentat" comes from Frank Herbert's saga "Dune". A mentat is a human computer, basically, and I loved that idea of being that, super-clever and brain-enhanced.... I don't think I'm a mentat, but my IQ is 116. (not bad, I think...)

* "ZPS"
For this part, we have to cut it in 2 : Z and PS.
Z is just there to make it look futuristic, "science-fictionish", but it has no real
meaning.
PS are my initials. S stand for Samuel (or Sam), and P for my family name (not
revealed here for obvious reasons).

A remark about the pronounciation : as a French-speaker, It's easy for me to say it.
But I know many of the English speakers just cut it and say simply [menta]

The correct pronounciation is [mãtaz3dpe3s] as I say it in French.
(sorry for phonical symbols, they aren't quite right, especially for the [3] sound, it's the sound you say as in the word "said" [s3d] , for example. It's not a "three" but it should be a "3" mirrored.

But don't bother with that and simply call me Sam....^_^
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you are everyone. The mystery is revealed !

gigantikok: I too am a member of the "straightforward screen name" club. I came up with this screen name years ago back before I even knew about LPSG, around the time that I realized I was better hung then most guys. It is gigantic and it is a cock, thought I'd just combine the two words and replace the "c" with a "k", just for kicks. ;)

Oddly enough, I got the name when I remembered one of my ex-girlfriends. I was doing some grocery shopping with her, and we had to pick up meat for her mother's beef stew. It was a hot summer day and I wore these denim shorts.

Well, I wasn't aware of it until we reached the house, but my dick was very visible on the side of my shorts. When we got to the kitchen, her mother just blurted out, "THAT'S A MASSIVE PACKAGE OF CHUCK YOU GOT THERE." I thought I was going to shit, but she pointed to the butcher's package, and I breathed easier.
Later, I found out that she had a double entendre for that exclaimation, but that's a separate story in it's self.

I am one half of a fraternal twin set. I am extremely well endowed, my bro is not. The name "bigtwin" was given to me early in high school by guys in the lockeroom. My bro's name was "tinytwin". "Bigtwin" seemed appropriate for this forum. I posted at an earlier lpsg site a few years back under that same nickname.

Yowsers: My girl friend is the one who introduced me to LPSG. So, when I decided to register I remembered her first response seeing me: "Yowsers!"

XXLHS: XXLHS - "Xtra Xtra Large" "Huge" "Set" - it worked and no one else had it as a account name... B)

It also seemed the most accurate in description, so I went with it...
