I don't want a list of gripes, I would respectfully ask for considered and supported arguments for the WORST thing a man can be.

I don't think you can pinpoint one exact quality, title or adjective to describe the worst kind of man (i.e. liar, greedy, cruel, etc.). Its a matter of a mixture of all of the above qualities and the effect he has on humanity. Since the question is "whats the worst thing a man can be" and what a man "is" is the sum of his actions over his life (I know I sound like Bill Clinton; "It depends on what the definition of the word "is" is), I think this is a good example of most of all of those qualities all wrapped into one, and the worst thing a man can be:

I realize I am not a woman, and I also am not a gay man so this isn't like the worst thing a man can be TO ME. But from what I have observed the worst thing a man can be (in a womans eyes) is weak.
A lot of chicks are going to tell you "abusive" is the worst thing or "cruel"
