I didn't think much of it, even though I'd seen pictures on social media of gay men wearing these translucent cowboy-style hats with under-chin strings.
Then, a year ago, our local HIV/AIDS foundation gifted my husband and I a pride package that included a translucent cowboy-style hat.
Tonight, during a local festival that isn't specifically gay-related, someone who works in the same bar-restaurant as me, and I figured was gay, parades a cowboy-style hat.
I'm as gay as they come, I just want to know where the cowboy hat thing came from. Google was no help; it just turned me toward cowboy fetishism, which clearly isn't what I'm talking about.
