I used to collect pigs and antique shot glasses.
I haven't actively collected anything in recent years though.
Unless of course you count shoes and boots.:biggrin1:

I collect Headaches. :headache:

Im kidding, I'm kidding.

I love anything midcentury modern. I love Japanese sci-fi, and for awhile I was collecting a lot of vinyl Japanese figures, then I looked around myself and said "Bill, you're a DORK." But more importantly, they were just taking up space....So I sold most of them, with visions of the 40 year old virgin running thru my head.

I have a few iconic pieces, they're very high quality.

I love the Jupiter 2 spaceship from the old Lost in Space tv series, and there are several high-end models out there, I'm waiting for the perfect one. I'll probably do a hack job on the inside, but my office job is design work and I operate a laser cutter/etcher, so I'll be able to get some really precise cuts on pieces. I'm not really a model maker, though.

Right now I have a storage unit full of cool stuff (furniture, kitchenware, cabinetry, lighting, etc.) for the home I want to have in Maui, and will send it over when the time is right....I'm going for the DWELL Magazine/Ikea/Japanese Zen look. I've also been collecting a ton of books on those subjects as far as design and architecture are concerned.

I have a small collection of tin lunchboxes (great for storage), and a few items on Herge's Tintin (not very popular in the US, but worldwide Tintin is MADLY collectible).

I used to have a ton of movie posters, but they were collecting dust themselves, so I sold.

I have a small collection of Twin Peaks memorabilia, only really special stuff, like some autographs, and a prop (set decoration) used in the Twin Peaks movie (a coffee percolator sitting on a shelf in a morgue scene with Chris Isaak and Keifer Sutherland).

My collections include:

Original handmade furniture, every one of the last 5 centuries is represented in my collection

Handmade custom jewelry, Both modern and antique. it is slowly becoming my girlfriends collection, one piece at a time.

Books, I have thousands at this point

Tools, particularly from the industrial revolution and prior.

Smoking pipes (tobacco) and old cigars

Original artwork.

hand made locks and keys

At different points in my life, I've also collected coins, stamps, pocketwatches, pre civil war firearms, pocketknives, cameras, and various other contraptions.

The main themes to my collecting are that things be either hand-made, or very unique. I like gadgets, but I'm particularly interested in gadgets made prior to 1950.

Roosevelt, I also have a passion for things that are hand made.

My collections are original artwork, musical instruments, recorded music, and (accidentally) Simpsons memorabilia.

I used to collect red and multi-colored transferware...

Sold that out.

I've collected numerous antique kitchen gadgets, gave those up...

I now have almost every possible thing with a chili pepper on it,especially in my kitchen now after 12 years of collecting those

And now I am slowly tiring of them...

I find after collecting something for any period of time I tire of it,I get rid of it,then start all over with something else...

But it is hard to break my chili pepper habit...can't stop...

Liqors - I'm starting a bar in the basement of my condo and it's coming along quite well, I have most of the popular scotches, brandies, whiskies and vodkas out there. I also have a thing for nice watches. I like having several to choose from depending on what I'm wearing.

My sister collects anything and everything that has a palm tree theme. A couple of years ago I found her a palm christmas tree which she decorates with beach ornaments.

Oriental carpets- Afghan, Turkish and Persian

I also seem to be the owner of an unintentional collection of motorcycles. I was supposed to be cutting back to 2 but instead I recently acquired another and have 4!
