I collect Headaches. :headache:
Im kidding, I'm kidding.
I love anything midcentury modern. I love Japanese sci-fi, and for awhile I was collecting a lot of vinyl Japanese figures, then I looked around myself and said "Bill, you're a DORK." But more importantly, they were just taking up space....So I sold most of them, with visions of the 40 year old virgin running thru my head.
I have a few iconic pieces, they're very high quality.
I love the Jupiter 2 spaceship from the old Lost in Space tv series, and there are several high-end models out there, I'm waiting for the perfect one. I'll probably do a hack job on the inside, but my office job is design work and I operate a laser cutter/etcher, so I'll be able to get some really precise cuts on pieces. I'm not really a model maker, though.
Right now I have a storage unit full of cool stuff (furniture, kitchenware, cabinetry, lighting, etc.) for the home I want to have in Maui, and will send it over when the time is right....I'm going for the
DWELL Magazine/Ikea/Japanese Zen look. I've also been collecting a ton of books on those subjects as far as design and architecture are concerned.
I have a small collection of tin lunchboxes (great for storage), and a few items on
Herge's Tintin (not very popular in the US, but worldwide Tintin is MADLY collectible).
I used to have a ton of movie posters, but they were collecting dust themselves, so I sold.
I have a small collection of Twin Peaks memorabilia, only really special stuff, like some autographs, and a prop (set decoration) used in the Twin Peaks movie (a coffee percolator sitting on a shelf in a morgue scene with Chris Isaak and Keifer Sutherland).
