I realize asking this on this forum may get a lot of "porn!" responses, but I figured I'd go ahead anyway :)

What job, for you, would make you the happiest? Doesn't necessarily mean the highest paying, but most satisfying.

I think for me it would be working the business/marketing side of a video game company. Video games are one of my biggest obsessions, and as I'm not much of a programmer or artist, I'd like to be on the other side of the coin.

Bus ticket agent (vendor) for Greyhound.

...oh, wait, I already did that.

There are so many things which interest me, I'd be hard pressed to select just one. If I had any knowledge of or any inkling of interest in learning the how-to of it, I wouldn't mind running a coffee shop (but only if I owned it). Maybe a sports reporter-mainly so I could have easy access to the locker rooms. Additionally, I like baseball and football, so all I need now is ambition.

Something simple. A stack of papers and two stamps, yes or no.

At various ponts in my youth I wanted to be a fight referee, interior decorator, and a fashion buyer for a department store. Also, a stay at home mom and wife. The latter is the only one I'd still like to be. Though I have toyed with the idea of home staging.

I simply want a job that is steady and that I can work there until I retire, with no worries about being fired. That's about all I can dream of, and even that for me is a pipe dream.

As for being more specific, I've joked about photographer for Playgirl being a dream job. But really, right now all I can dream of is being able to keep a job - ANY job.

Well...I wish to be an artist and create beautiful things of nothing and work with my hands and just create music, objects, hair styles, make ups, clothes, divine decor and paintings, sing the opera, play the cello and violin and just keep expressing it all and make money from my many arts....

I guess for now I just know how to make somethings very delicious and that is all.

Ha ha... I'm trying to become a computer/internet support technician! :biggrin1: With me, it's not a matter of jobs I'm good at but hate. It's a matter of finding any job that I CAN do! The one job I was really good at was a strictly temporary (by definition - ALL jobs of its kind are strictly temporary, there are no permanent jobs doing it) one. I'm ok at a couple of others. I'm even ok as a computer programmer if I'm entry level. Unfortunately there aren't any entry level jobs in that, and the mid to senior level jobs (mostly senior), I don't have the skill level for.

Another thing that gets in the way of jobs is that I get sick frequently. I don't have a chronic health problem per se, just get a lot of colds and flu bugs, and it adversely affects my work, and ability to keep jobs.

If I didn't have the problem with colds/flu, etc. there are several jobs that I think would be interesting. Most of them require separate college degrees though, and there's no way I could get THAT much education!

    For example:
Scientist - especially astrophysicist or geologist.
Journalist - especially travel journalist (that way I'd get to travel, too!) or music journalist (because I'm a music fanatic). Not so much news/politics though, because people get too hostile toward journalists in those areas. (especially ones with views like mine).

I'm shy though, so I'm probably more suited for the scientist than the journalist, since I really don't know how to make conversations with people. I'm usually ok when someone else starts one, and occasionally I can even chime in, but often my conversations with people come to a screetching halt when they are hostile to my interests or views. (More about being hostile to my views... if they don't share my interests there are no hard feelings, but it's just hard to keep a conversation going.)

my dream job is working from home and setting my own hours. i freakin hate offices, office parties, birthday outings with everyone at the office, and especially commuting in traffic. ughhh.

so after being unemployed for the majority of the year, i decided i'm going to finally start doing what i really like to do, which is scrapbooking! (i knowww, it's so nerdy right? haha.) even if i only make enough to pay my bills, i don't care. it's something i can see myself doing (and have been doing for many years) and not becoming bored after a week. i'd much rather find a way to do what i love and make a decent living off of it, rather than something i absolutely loathe that pays more and comes with a retarded schedule and punching in and punching out.

yeah, that about sums it up. you wouldn't believe how much people charge for custom made scrapbooks either!!! an average scrapbook is 12" x 12" and contains 20 pages (front and back). on average, professionals charge $15-25 (sometimes even more) just per single page! quick math... 20 pages x $15/page = $300; or, 20 pages x $25 = $500. just imagine if a client wanted more than 20 pages, or even several scrapbooks! cha-ching!

Dream job for right now: one of them I'm in the running for and some of it would include working from home which would be nice since I could spend more time with my pup...

Dream job in the long run: psychotherapist...just have to finish school...but that would also allow me to make my own hours and work from home if I really wanted to...plus being my own boss would be nice.

I would love to be a Disney Imagineer in culinary arts, film soundtrack and music composition, interior design and graphic design and industrial arts. Or working in those fields at Cirque Du Soleil.

I haven't heard of anything like this paying well, but not saying it isn't out there. I actually don't mind offices and office parties and all, but I have had problems with keeping jobs because I get sick a lot, so working from home might be better for me (at least a job that I could work some from home when I'm not up to going to work). And I may need a job that is simple, so while it'd be boring when I'm well, I'd still be able to do the job when I'm sick and in a brain fog. I've lost jobs due to not being able to think clearly enough to do a more complex job at all times (yes, due to a flu bug...)

I'm still working on finding my niche, if I even have one - and at my age I should've found it long before now! But then, my friends have many of the same problems that I'm having, and some of them are older than I am. They usually have chronic health problems that get in the way though. I don't have a chronic health problem per se; I just get colds and flu bugs a lot. Actually, if I could make a decent living owning my own business I'd do that - I wouldn't have to worry about the boss because the boss would be ME! :biggrin1: Unfortunately my personality type is opposite of this! I have no sales ability (which you kinda need to own your own business) whatsoever. At least not of the "get out and make the sale" variety.

Of course my standard answer to the Dream Job question now is: Trust fund baby or lottery winner! (but yeah, riiiiiiight....)
