You forgot the margarine and sugar on white bread sandwiches.

I'm from oklahoma, more or less,(also spent a lot of my childhood in texas and missouri) and i'll admit i ate margarine and suger sandwiches... it tastes good... and spam, or vienna sausages.

But my favorite thing is a 16 oz KC cut steak(extra rare) no matter where i lived one of those was always available.

Chitterlings, potato salad, collard greens with smoked pork neck bones and corn bread. I tend to use liberal amounts of Frank's Red Hot Sauce on the chitterlings and collards. My mom only cooks them when it snows and for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My dad always laughs because she serves them from a sterling silver chafing dish that has been in the family for about 75 years.

Fillet steak{well done}, fat chips and bearnaise sauce. Delicious. For foreign food, you really can't go wrong with a chicken biriyani.

Codfish cake. Vegans don't eat 'em, I know. BUT! If my grandmother's cousin Earline makes them, I'm eating them. Actually, I'll eat anything she cooks (unless it's black pudding or souse, in which case I'll suddenly remember I'm a vegan).

I do NOT do chitterlings. Hell-to-the No. Please do pass the ox tails. Why are my favorite foods from childhood all from animals? *sniffle*

Yorkshire pudding sounds delicious.

I am Mexican-American and my favorite food for as long as I can remember is enchiladas. Any kind, so long as they have plenty of cheese! My favorite way of having them is "flat," with a fried egg on top, and lots of lettuce, tomato and onion.

Something else which I like is chilaquiles, which is basically enchiladas, but without the meat. It is made with corn tortillas torn into quarters or cut into strips, and then covered with red chile and cheese.

A fun favorite of mine is Mexican hot dogs. They are made by slicing a wienie in the middle to form a pocket, stuffing it with cheese, wrapping it in a corn tortilla, securing with a toothpick, and then deep frying. Those are delicious!

Some other favorites of mine are tamales, posole with menudo, chile rellenos, fajitas, taquitos, and carne adovada.

You just made me so homesick I could cry! I'm from Texas, and my father's mother was half Mexican. Those hot dogs are the bomb! Most of the cowboys on the ranch were Mexican, and I would always hang around when they were cooking! I have not had chicken tortilla soup that comes close to what they made over a campfire.

Growing up in Texas near Austin I'd have to say my absolute favorite food was smoked brisket. I remember hearing Dad getting up at midnight to start the fire. He would be out there every two hours. And while we were enjoying his delicious creation he'd be sleeping on the sofa!

An artist does suffer for his craft.

Pierogis made with ricotta cheese, pan fried, then topped with sour cream.

Haven’t had them in probably 35 years. There’s no one left to make them and they take too damn long, anyway.
