Mine is Pecan Pie.

Followed by Key Lime Pie. There are two kinds and I prefer the one that is made with condensed milk and thicker as opposed to the cream type pie. I didn't even know it was named after Key (West) limes till I vacationed there a few years ago.

I also like Bean Pie and Sweet potato pie.

I think pie is always good, I've had some better than others, but I enjoyed every kind that I tried.

The closest things to pies that I grew up with are guava and (ground) beef filled pasteles, they are individual and have a light sugar wash that makes them sweet.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING enjoy your pies. :biggrin1:

Cream pies.... yummm :naughty:

If we're talking food, then my favorite is a hot apple pie made of northern spy apples.

I'm also fond of pecan, cherry, and more than any of them, I love peach cobbler.

My sister makes a delicious coconut cream pie with toasted coconut on top and I really love it. I also love lemon meringue pie and blueberry pie fresh from the hot oven.

Naughty makes an awesome Lemon-coconut pie. I like all kinds of pies--sweet potato, pumpkin, pecan, cherry, blueberry, etc. Most anything is good except mincemeat.

All pie is delicious unless it contains citrus fruit or mincemeat.

There's shepherds pie.

Apple pie.

...Pumpkin pie.

And the ever so lovable... poontang pie!

My cousin makes an apple pie that is delicious beyond description. She even makes the crust from scratch! It is always light, flakey, and buttery. A perfect complement to the mix of sweet and tart apples she uses. The little bitch refuses to share the recipe for that crust. :irked:

Second to that I do love a Mrs. Smith's deep dish apple pie. Other than that I do not much like hot fruit. :yuck:

I do love chocolate cream pie, pecan pie, coconut custard and have acquired a taste for sweet potato. My mom makes the best sweet potato pie on the planet.

Ok I know no one will be able to sleep tonight with out my crust recipe.
2 cups sifted flour
1 cup crisco
1/2 cup cold water
pinch of salt.

If you have a Kitchen Aid use the dough hook and mix the ingredients until in a firm ball divide in two and wrap in plastic wrap and chill for an hour. Roll it out!
Enjoy!

Workin' up a good pot of mad!
THanks,D.

I will have to print it out now for next time. I have collected my favorite versions of certain pies over the years and then tweaked or adapted them. I LOVE SWEET POTATO PIE! But that is only sweet potato pie that has been made well. That being said many try but few achieve that feat. I also love old fashioned apple , peach and blackberry or blueberry cobbler with crust topping. DO not even approach me with cake cobbler! I will hurt you. My grandmother's apple cobbler recipe won the bake off in the 50's for that dessert. I also enjoy lemon coconut pie... this is one I have tweaked over the years... Has anyone seen the movie, "Waitress"? I wish I were so intrepid!
