I've been working out with my basement gym during COVID. Sounds like some of you can do the same or your gyms are opening where you live.

What's your most recent fitness victory? Sharing what you are proud of will keep you motivated and keep others on this board inspired.

Here's mine: After feeling like I was on a plateau for a while, two muscle groups started taking off again. First was being able to add another 10lbs to my bench press and being able to start moving that lift up. The second was in my biceps. I've kept the weight the same but am moving from maxing at 6-8 reps into a 8-10 reps zone. It feels great and I'm hoping to take that weight up again soon to keep things growing.

What's your recent success story that's keeping you motivated?

Well having been in shielding for the last two and a half months I haven't been able to exercise as such but having been out to walk today managed to do 1465 steps without causing as much pain to my hips as usual but I'll be slowly building up on that so that's been my goal for the day

my gols this week:
1. consistency in nutri & workout time planning
2. consistency in hitting my macros
3. keeping motivation up on home gym (so tired of it, I want to go back to community gym!)

Those three have been my challenges the last week so my goal is to focus/overcome them this week

This is a good idea for a thread. Thanks for starting it.
I've been working out in the garage with a max combined weight of 300lbs. With that, I've been working on reps for my deadlifts. At the beginning of covid, I was 300lbs for 6 reps.
Yesterday was my qst day back at the gym and since I had the extra weights, I gave it a shot and kept adding more weight to see how I would do. I successfully pulled off 8 reps on deadlifts with 405. Before covid, I was only able to do 3.
I'm sore as fk today, but it was worth it.

I miss going to the gym especially as I was doing so well there with weights but not sure how my hips would cope

Yes @ur_wifes_bull thank you: it's all about consistency and consistency is often about goals, measurement, accountability

@b3ar that is awesome, testimony that its not only about piling on weight to gain strength, again its consistency. I have about 450 in combined lbs still working out from home, plus bands to give it a littl edge. Can't wait to get back to a real gym!

Just cardio. I wish I had weights here at the house, I miss lifting.

Maybe I should not even post here... compared to you guys I don't come close to the level of fitness you fellas have achieved. But heck, I will post this anyhow. I miss the sauna too but as hot and humid as it has been lately here in South Carolina, I am sweating out a little while outside doing cardio.

Yea, great thread!!

For me, the consistency. I've been going back to the gym at the same intervals preCOVID19. It was hard because I work out at least 4 times a week and my body has to get used to that again.

I started returning to doing cardio after a 3 month lay off. I started out doing 30 minute jogs and as of yesterday I increased to 45 minutes. Until I am able to build my at home gym, I will be focusing strictly on cardio. I'm going to lose muscle mass but screw it, I can build that back easily. I just need to continue to sweat and keep my blood flowing

But lord I do miss doing deadlifts. I miss the soreness.

I have been able to return to swimming after three months off and got in most of three miles this week. Feels really good to be back in the pool!

Before the confinement, I was improving on the assisted pullup machine at the gym. My victory this week was to get back to it and realize I didn't lose it much.

But I wonder if I can still improve much on it. I'm an old woman and sometimes I think it can't be done anymore.

On another note, I've done a 43 km mountain bike ride on a new trail. I was happy I could manage it, because there were some mean climbs.

Great thread. Monday was my first day back at the gym. Went again Tuesday. Although I didn't lift the weight that I was prior to slk the shut down. I'm really sore from the weights. Did cardio after the weight lifting. Walk every day. So far since 6/3 I've lost 6.5 pound. Slow yes, but the tortoise wins the race.
Corona sucks.

Well, to bluntly put it my fitness victory for the week is that I finally made the decision that I'm tired of being unhealthy. I know it is going to be a long journey to become a better me but, I'm tired of blah all the time.
