So I think that I may have HPV (a light case of what I believe is genital warts on my shaft), for a period of time I've left it unattended and I minded my own business, washing it regularly and such, but I now notice it's not going anywhere and it's the same as the past 6 months and I am not as much worried as I am embarassed because it keeps me from seeing anyone and have relations with.

What I am wondering is what kind of doctor can I see about it and what is the usual procedure?

Just go and see your regular doctor. You do not need a specialist for this.

I'd say go see a dermatologist who specializes in dermapathology and/or STDs. Many primary care/internal medicine doctors have trouble with properly identifying skin issues.

I had this same issue. Two genital warts on my shaft, where for a while, i didn't think anything of it. Just figured it was something that goes away. But when I realized it wasn't going anywhere, I had to finally figure out what to do. I was also embarrassed. When I finally scheduled to see my doctor, it was all I could think about leading up to the appointment haha.

Finally saw him and he directed me to go see a Urologist about getting the removed. I ended up getting them removed by laser destruction. Got it done just before the holidays. Still healing some, but when I last checked in with my Urologist a couple weeks ago, he said the healing looks good and I could resume sexual activity.

Have you seen your doctor yet? Would like to hear how your results are with this

Here in the UK the best point of contact would be local GUM clinic, most GP’s would send you there; especially during lockdown.

Almost all major cities have a clinic that specializes in sexually transmitted infections. Believe me, a couple of warts is THE LEAST they have seen and treated. They do this all day long every day. Typically, they are expert. The old hashioned treatment was "painting" them with a compound named podopphelyn (I'm not sure of the spelling)> It usually worked but sometimes required a s second treatment.
