What kind of music do you like?

HC: I have a relatively wide range of musical taste, but my favorite genres are metal and rap. More specifically, European-style power metal and underground hip-hop from Brooklyn.

My username on this board is a tribute to the band Iced Earth, and their brilliant 16-minute epic Dante's Inferno, which is based on the first of three sections in Dante Alighieri's book, The Divine Comedy. Plus, I enjoy the username's inherent paradox. And of course, because although Hell is typically described as fiery, Lucifer resides in a pit of ice on the 9th Plain. Yeah, I started to ramble off topic there, sorry about that...

Some of my other favorite bands are Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Nevermore, Demons & Wizards, and King Diamond/Mercyful Fate.

My favorite rap lyricist is Necro (shameless plug to http://www.necrohiphop.com where he also operates his own porn company, Sexpert Video..."don't sleep or you'll DIE!"), and a shout-out to the rest of his Brooklyn goonz: Non Phixion, Ill Bill, Reverend Goretex, Captain Carnage, Mr. Hyde, Cage Kennylz, Exlib.

Unfortunately, I can't find a compatible female with a similar musical preference. I wonder why. ;D

tracksuitboy: My own range of music is quite wide but if you want your ears to love you forever, get Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells II" and The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" and play them in headphones or with the lights way down.  Two of the finest records ever made!!

There we go, just what I was talking about, a female with good musical taste

I'm going to see Dimmu with Nevermore (!), Hypocrisy, and Children of Bodom in November. The problem with most metal shows is that they have one or two crappy acts, but all four of those bands are quality.

Be sure to catch Nile on Headbangers Ball (MTV2) on Saturday. That's the only good thing, besides Beavis & Butt-head, that has ever been on MTV.
