Hindsight's 20/20. Seeing the error of your ways does nothing to change the fact that millions of people are suffering needlessly.

If I can answer the thread title seriously I'll laud the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for its singularity of individual thought in early events like the The Boston Tea Party, the resisitance to the Stamp Act in the form of the slogan "No More Taxation Without Representation", and the very fact that we alone (at least so far) have stood alone for human rights by the Massachusetts Supreme Court ruling that not allowing gay people to marry is unconstitutional.

Beyond that .............. it's beautiful beyond belief here.

Oregon: home of the U.S.'s first "bottle bill" legislation for recycling and container deposits.

Before the bottle bill the highways were littered with discarded cans and bottles. Filthy, shameful, disgraceful...in Oregon and elsewhere. Afterwards, discarded cans or bottles are not easy to find here. The roadsides are much cleaner because few people throw away cans anymore.

Sorry stronzo, its more beautiful here. :D

What's special about Michigan:

We've got 2 seasons - Winter and Road Constructioin
We have More Orange Barrels than trees
Our Snow plow drivers got their CDL from a cracker jack box.
Madonna was born here but she claims Bay City was "Smelly"
Our state depends heavily on the auto industry, so were really screwed right now.
We have access to see many of the cars of the future toodling on the highway coming out of detroit.
Our Fall Colors are outstanding, especially up north.
The Upper penninsula is God's country, truely. Mostly 2 trac, and ATV access only.
We come from Da U.P. EH!
And it's where I live.... so you know it's special.

We're fucking Texas. I can't go into why we're the best state. *hairflip* It should just be common sense.

I can go into why Austin's the best place to live in Texas though. And last but not least....
• The fucking University of Texas Longhorns. Rosebowl, baby. Rosebowl.

Hmm...let's see. California is the only state I can think of that you can go from the beach to the mountains to the desert, to the valley, to the palins in less than two hours of driving. We have some of the best of clubs, where lots of celebs frequent (sorry New York and Florida we got you beat here). More celebrity sightings (I was stuck in trafic over the last five years with Lindsey Lohan, Bruce Willis, and i think Julia Roberts). We also have great stores and exclusive resteraunts (ever had a "double bouble" from In and out?). Plus our minimum wage is $6.75. Top that.

Well, Canada sure isn't a state, but it should be mentioned.

We invented Hockey, and basketball.

Celebs like Pam Anderson, Jim Carrey, and Mike Myers were all born here.

We have hot summers and cold winters.

BEAUTIFUL landscapes, with more natural resources than All of the USA combined.

I was born, and still live here.

We get winter. I live in a desert and it snows here. Plus we get an awesome spring and a real fall or autumn if you wish. (it's breathtaking in the fall). Plus even though we didn't invent basket ball or hockey we have teams here probably the most basketball teams in one state. As for those celebs they may not be born here but they usually work and hang out here.

The state of Baden-Württemberg:
• has a black and yellow flag. Yay!
• has more medieval and baroque castles than you can shake a stick at. *shakes stick demonstratively*
• was the birthplace of director Roland Emmerich, who has brought the world such cinematic atrocities as Independence Day and the remake of Godzilla. Oops.
• has such a thick regional accent that an official state promotional campaign uses the tag-line, "We can do everything. Except speak proper German" ("Wir können alles. Außer Hochdeutsch"). :biggrin1:
• contains an Umlaut ("ü"), so that I'm continually receiving mail from the States with "%20" appearing in the middle of my address, since people have attempted to print it out on their (insufficiently configured) home computers. The irony is... that you don't even need to include the name of the state in addresses here... just the city and zip-code would suffice.
Tsk, that's more than enough already. :cool3:

Then would you say it's your state's sense of subtlety?
