As an old drag queen once told me (half in jest and half in earnest) "It's too bad we can't own people, because a lot of folks would be better off if we could."

Yup, getting dumped is not easy and takes up a lot of otherwise valuable emotional energy. Don't waste too much time feeling sorry for yourself (a little self pity is allowed). Instead, get out there and find yourself a couple of good friends with benefits. It's always nice to have someone to sleep with; especially while you're licking your open love wounds.

Best of luck. Life gets better. Really, it does.

Gives jacker a hug  and says "You're too good for him". Midlifebear speaks words of wisdom. Gather some friends around and go out on the town and have some fun. Who knows, you might meet Mr. True Love.

    Good advice so far...
let me add this: don't make the next one you meet pay the price for this guy's bad behavior...

Hey...a broken heart is the highest achievment of human experience. It feels like pain but it's really more about growing and learning about the world and people. I think that the more your heart is broken the better you are. It's important to keep exposing yourself. When you learn that the biggest heartbreaks are not about being dumped, you'll have arrived.....

    Aww, hugs, Jacker.

OK, it's a cliche but "It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all".

If only one could embrace life astride these Platitudes:

"Love like you've never been hurt before."

    "Dance like no one's watching.
    Sing like no one's listening.
Work like you don't need the money.
    Live like there's no tomorrow."

    Otherwise:
"No more tears now; I will think about revenge."~ Mary Queen of Scots

Give it a while. Time really does heal - (eventually).
    Good luck.
