This thread got me thinking, 'What runs in your family?' I don't mean things like great smiles or the ability to hold a grudge. I am thinking more along the lines of genetic or hereditary diseases.
- A maternal and paternal aunt died from complications of breast cancer within 10 months of each other.
- Lost a maternal uncle and a paternal great aunt to pancreatic cancer.
- Maternal grandmother died of cervical cancer
Yup, cancer doesn't just run in my family it holds marathons. :frown1:
Non-cancer hereditary disorders
The following run on both sides of my family as well
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Hyperactive thyroid
- Depression (but I am the only one that admits it) :irked:
- Nearsightedness
- Deviated septums
- Sleep apnea
- Bad teeth
- Narcolepsy (but I am the only one that admits it) :irked:
- Great legs and butts :biggrin1: (there are some things you can't buy at Neiman-Marcus)
- Weak stomach muscles run on my moms side of the family
