This is the "Healthy" section so I figured I'd ask here... What supplements do you take? And for what reason? It can be for anything; Good health, body building, weight loss, PE.

Well, aside from fortified foods, I take nothing. I believe you should be able to get all the nutrients you need from your diet. If your diet is lacking, you should adjust your diet.

I wish it was that easy... But what about those people who want an extra edge?

Well, what you believe and reality are two different things. Unless you are growing your own food, and butchering your own meat, you are not going to get that nutrition from the food you BUY.

    To the OP.

Well I eat well but I take a multi-vitamin just because. Vitamin D3 and a Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplement for my knees , I eat peanuts, and walnuts by the hand full every day. That gives me the extra edge. (google peanuts and walnuts if you don't believe me)

    I could not agree more.

As far as getting an extra edge b vitamins do not make u burn fat. If have a b vitamin deficiency then your will show them physically with symptoms, but if you have enough b vitamin present taking more will not increase metabolic rate.

I do agree the soil is depleted and our foods are not as nutrient dense as they use to be, they are still a FAR better option than MOST supplements. Their are a few good supplement companies that provide good products, but they are not the ones you find at your local drug store. Plus raw vegetables dont just have vitamins and minerals in them they have enzymes, antioxidants, phyto nutrients, and that is only what we have discovered so far.

I answered your question in the PE section. What I left out was:
    Whey protien
    creatine monohydrate, micronized
    glutamine
    BCAA
    Powdered Gatoraid (for electrolyes)
NO-explode and Cell Mass by BSN.

But that is only on workout days. (about twice a week)

The "misinformation" from the suppliment handbook talks about timing, which is even more important.

I feel dizzy, my iron tablets have run out and I haven't taken them for 2 days now. I really don't want to faint. I have to get my boy friend to go and pick some up for me... sadly no sex today =/.

I know and ty for your help. Just made this thread to see if I could get responses from other health nuts that might mention other stuff that may be of interest to me.

Right now I’m just taking whey protein and creatine.

b12- my body doesn't retain enough so I do an injectable
    vit C
Vit D I was just told that was a major issue for women, that something like 70% of women are low in vitamin D. That can cause fatigue, among other issues. I just had the bloodwork done to test my level but am now taking it until the results come in. The doctor said I will either need to contine the once a day pill, or go on a once a month treatment. She's fairly certain I'm low.

I also take calcium, as I don't care for milk, or dairy products.

Vitamin C, Zinc (which all men should take), L-Argenine, Omega-3 and Glucosamine for my dodgy right knee. My GP recommended all of those except for the L-Argenine. Vitamin C is good: haven't had a cold since I don't know when, and I work in a hospital so I'm surrounded by sick people too.
