We are bombarded everyday with news that erodes or jades us into thinking there is little good in fellow humans and that mankind isn't going to make it out of the hell we create for each other whether it be spineless ingenuous political distortions, football pedophiles, or once trusted financial institutions and health care companies shamelessly fucking over it's customers.

But once in a blue moon something happens and you realize that, hey, we humans aren't all that bad and it looks like humanity just might make it.

What are those happenings and events or personal experiences and revelations that have restored your faith in humanity?

Honestly, I was looking more for a personal revelation or commentary rather than advice.

heaps of things.

the knitting ladies who work tirelessly making afghans for sick kids.
the Monk, he really would/has given the shirt off his back to someone.
the nice lady who asks me how my mother is doing, and always passes on a message to give my mom.
the lady at the walmart, who at 4am taught me "don't stop someone from giving you blessing... they need it as much as you"
some random dude helping push an old lady's car off the road.
when strangers offer hugs to other strangers.

I see the good in people all the time weather its somthing as simple as somone smileing to seeing people putting them selfs around bad all the time and making good of it one step of it at a time .they are from food pantrys to dog rescues all kinds of people truely doing humatrian acts to make positive impacts. sure as one fire is being put out 1o more begian and when it seems like mankind is going to shit more to the more just as all this dismay is happienng take solece in those out there that are putting them selfs outthere to make positve changes that give me hope in mankind and inspires me to help others even more.

Someone saying hello just because.

Letting someone into traffic instead of ignoring them as most do.

Holding a door open.

Helping the elderly without them thinking they need to repay you.

Someone willing to listen and not judge.

*Hope I past Earl*

No kill animal shelters.
Saint Jude's Hospital
Witnessed kind acts of strangers.
Neighbor stopping by to help with something random when I'm struggling.
Seeing all the people that like to get together to volunteer for different things.
Seeing someone ELSE stop and move the turtle off the road.

I don't know that I've ever worried about humanity as a whole. If the news makes me sad I just turn off the tv and spend a little more time around folks who like to give back and help out.

My faith in humanity was never lost so it isn't in need of any restoring.
I don't believe anybody to be wholly good nor wholly evil.
And neither do I believe humanity as a whole is bad. I'm usually more optimistic.

Hope posting wasn't as painful as a kidney stone OWO...lol.

Justice Robert's decision to uphold the constitutionality of Obamacare and dissent with the rest of the Republican ideologues in the Supreme Court and do what was right instead of cow towing to political pressure, restored my faith in humanity - that someone would have the courage, rise up to the occasion and to do what he felt was constitutionally right as opposed what was safe, easy and expected says a lot about human nature.

People who are able to transfer thoughts into meaningful gestures and expecting nothing in return except gratitude.
Meeting someone new who changes your views about something you thought your mind was made up on.
Seeing people who wear happy colors on a gloomy day.
Real smiles and genuine laughter.
When space and time is acknowledged by the heart.
Looking at life and understanding that sometimes what happens between the shadow and the act are the things that can change the world or your day.
