Frosh/Soph dorms were a 'changing room' with hooks and an open room with 10 heads IIRC. In mid winter we would crank them all up on high hot and have 'sauna parties'...bring lawn chairs in there and drink beer. Epic fun for 18 year old males.

My freshmen year there was 2 bathrooms on each level of the freshmen male dorm. Each bathroom had 5 sinks, 4 stalls, 3 urinals, and 5 shower stalls. The stalls were incredibly tiny though and changing in them was next to impossible.
I usually wore a robe in and just took it off and hung it on the rack that was in the back of the room on the other side of the showers, being naked wasn't a big deal to me.

I lived in the scholarship or "geek" dorm, which was also the first coed dorm on campus. In conversation, I found out that he literally couldn't fit into the shower room opening, so he didn't take them. I lived in two dorms over 3 years. Both had gang showers. One had 3 heads on two sides of the room. The other had a room on each end of the bathroom, with a central pole with 3 heads on each. No hope of privacy, everybody just had to deal with it, not take showers there, or move. Only lived in halls for one year... it was a "flat" set up with 5 of us sharing - 2 guys and 3 girls (with 2 girls sharing a room) and only one shower - a really small cold old dirty cubicle.

There were four tiled cubicle showers with no doors or curtains. In a separate room there were three toilets, one urinal and three sinks. This was to serve seventeen guys. Most walked to and from the showers either naked or wrapped in a towel. There were usually other guys showering in the morning and, sometimes just before dinner as the climate was hot and humid and getting around campus involved a lot of walking.
This was quite a few years ago but the buildings are still standing and have not been remodelled, to my knowledge. They probably have shower curtains now.

Mine were 4 tiled showers, 2 pairs that faced eachother with a curtain for each one and a bench in between the two. There was a common toilet located in the middle of the wing with a trough and six toilets with dividers; no doors, and two sinks. The shower room was across from the toilet and it had ten shower heads all mounted on one side of the room with six sinks and mirrors on the opposite wall. Nothing was partitioned. There was a urinal trough located near the door.

I lived in an old gothic stone dorm overlooking the drillfield at VA Tech when I was a freshman in 1992. Main Campbell Hall was built in the 1920s and they had not done much to it in the nearly seven decades since. One exception was that the bathrooms had been renovated when it was converted to a girls dorm sometime in the 1960s after VPI went from being an all male military school to a coed university.

I was back at VA Tech for a football game several years ago and ducked into one of the all guys dorms to take a piss in the mens room and noticed that they have installed stall partitions in the shower rooms since I graduated in the mid 90s.
All of the new dorms that have been built on the VA Tech campus since I was there are coed, have suite style accomodations, and air conditioning...something that was unheard of when I was there.

5 showers adjacent to each one. Communal..no curtains or dividers. 3 toilet stalls with doors. 1 urinal (?) .I guess they expected us to urinate while showering. Fourth and one of the worst: roughly 40 guys; toilet and sinks in same room, 7 toilets 6 sinks, tiny individual mirrors. and 6 shower stalls with a double curtain each had a changing area with a tiny little bench then another curtain for the actual shower.
Fifth and my favorite: 60+ guys sharing three Huge bathrooms; each 10 toilets, 8 urinals; not the close to the wall type but the big bowl style the lets you get a good view. They were on a wall that kind of jutted out from the main wall so the one on the end was almost like peeing in the middle of the room. Got a really good view of some of the guys using that urinal. 8 sinks opposite the urinals with a full wall mirror. Seperate gang shower room with 6 heads that had again been retro fitted with partitions and doors. Most of us didn't care about nudity in that dorm either.

The walls seperating them were really short, came up to just about my nose. and i'm 5'10". oddly they had had fullheight doors on them. het shower heads were non moveable, pointed at an angle from one corner to the opposite and were at chest level so you had to bend over to get your head wet.
Beyond that i have lived in apartments

Twin Toilets (Towers) had 9 floors and 4 wings. 2 shower/toilet areas per floor. 8 shower heads, no stalls the first three years, and then stalls, but no shower curtains.
