My first real job was working for fathers construction compnay. I did not even know I was hired. Told the night before and awakened at 5AM. After many summers and weekends of this I decided to get a summer job before I had to work one more summer in the Florida heat. I worked for a drug store (16) and they put me in the pharmacy for a few days and at the front counter the rest. I meet a lot of nice women that way. I also got to see what was in thier records also.
Hmm, that's a little creepy.

I did not look at everyones records just the older women who hit on me. Married, kids, drug addict etc. It's not like I was looking for an address or phone number I got those from them. I was just making sure they were what they said they were.

I forgot to mention how I got my first real job. The girl I was dating at the time knew an executive at the company and he set up the interview and so that's how I got it. I had sex with a very useful and pretty girl.

Ahh, okay then. That's no worse then me calling my cousin the police detective, to run a plate # and check for priors.

I got a late start in working because of living so far away from town, and also because of extreme shyness.

My first job was a cashier at a discount store. Thing is, I had already graduated from college  - and THAT was the only job I could find?! Plus it was just holiday help, and I messed up and was not extended. Didn't get fired so much as they just decided not to keep me on after the holidays. But probably most of the other holiday help was the same way.

My second job was supposed to be permanent but I was asked to resign after 8 months. I was a psychiatric attendant at an institution for the developmentally disabled. I was really not suited for the job, plus a lot of my co-workers hated me and had it in for me because I was a college graduate. (I have experienced a lot of anti-college bullying in my life, especially when I was in my twenties. Not so much in my thirties and forties since then and now I mostly work(ed) with other college graduates and know people who are college graduates, or at least people who don't hate people who have been to college!)

I've had a lot of different jobs, many short-term and temporary and some rather interesting experiences, such as working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indy 500.

I worked the Christmas Rush at the post office. It was graveyard. Go to work in the dark, get home just as the sun was coming up, go to bed and get up just as the sun was setting. I felt like a mole. Part of it was fun though. My dad was everybody's bosses, bosses, bosses, boss. My friends wanted to work too so I just gave my dad their names. All for a $ 1.50 an hour. That was $.25 an hour above minimum wage back in 1968

Did anyone work at "Hot Dog on a Stick" selling corn dogs and lemonade in the mall? I always pass by and they have the cutest girls working there. Anyone else notice this?

My first real job?

It was when I was a teen working as a laborer in a nursery under the supervision of a man-hating lesbian who proceded to take out her anger against men on me. The continual criticism, subtle ridicule, useless make-work, and other relentless hounding eventually forced me out of the job.

Sounds like a case of reverse sexual harrassment if ever there was one.

Did she ever work at the garden department at Sears by chance?

I'd never put up with such treatment now but at the time I was just a soft spoken and insecure guy in my mid teens coping with life after the death of my father: An easy target for a predatory sociopath.
