Thank you for your reply. I read it three times to discover any nuances that I m as you have missed. But your ideas seem fairly straightforward forward. My response below is offered as clarification:

1. I asked a direct question of straight white men because I definitely want their perspective. As I mentioned, this is a recurring scenario. And in full disclosure, this has been a topic of discussion between other professional Blacks men. We are definitely curious about the "why" of it all.

2. Although I mentioned alcohol in my scenario, please note that I'm a light social drinker who never gets intoxicated. And I make a practice of avoiding conversations with heavy drinkers. My point is that my discussions, even if a beer or two lowered inhibitions, were in no way a result of intoxication.

QUOTE="ronin001, post: 6224583, member: 415466"]Aside from college Howard Stern type comments, from friends in relatively close circle of friends, almost no one has ever directly or indirectly made such comments to me. Even then the person making the pun, was openly gay ant it was taken as a joke.

I am not much of a social ; or private drinker, so when the OP states I also think that after a few more brews, they might be willing to try something new.

So it is difficult to ascertain if the alcohol alters the OPs interaction with men; or if alcohol increases the inhibitions of the Caucasian males suddenly interested in his appendage proportions Sexuality and Alcohol can have a synergistic effect on short term reasoning

My answer to the OP, do not look for answers to a question, unless you really want to know the answer

I've never talked about dick size with any guys, of any ethnicity, in person. (Here on LPSG doesn't count!)
I think that the majority of straight white males only experience black male penises through watching porn, and in porn there is no such thing as a 'small' or 'average' black porn star! Since the stereotype is that all blacks are bigger, that is what the white guys believe to be true in the real world.

Why are those guys bring up dick size with you in social settings? Maybe they aren't as 'straight' as they appear?

I talk about cock size with people I know reasonably well, and a few other / strangers lol. If they want to see it they can ask, it's much like showing a tattoo, or a scar, or any other feature of general interest.

Your stats indicate 0% straight,, I would almost expect a gay man to zoom in on dick talk. But genuinely straight men typically do not. Note that the original post referenced White men,100%
straight, bringing up dick size with me. And my finding it peculiar because they're practically strangers and presumably heterosexual.

Talking about cock is not actually sexual in itself, so all guys participate, straight or gay. It is more about whether guys straight and gay feel comfortable around you enough to comment on the subject. I wouldn't be too fixed in my mind in terms of straight men or preconceived ideas, they are individuals. I have and do spend a lot of time around straight guys so know a lot about what interests them and what they talk about. Being gay means they often talk about things with me that they wouldn't discuss with their 'straight' friends.

I'd take it as a compliment that they feel open around you and they don't feel physically threatened. At some point you will get used to their questions, and maybe even show a few of them.

Why would an adult heterosexual man find it appropriate to approach a near stranger on that level? It's juvenile at best. And stereotypical when White men do it to Black men they don't know. There is no compliment in that; especially when they have no clue about my actual size.

So are you saying that when they comment you feel they are reducing you to a stereotype which feels offensive to you?

That might be the case, but it is normal for humans to be curious. I have been known to say: I'm not that interested in talking about cock but if you want size contest let's whip them out here and now - and then we can get back to having a civilised drink ... then we can both laugh and move on.

You might the chat at the beginning of this of interest

I'm feeling as though we're not disagreeing on the basics of human nature, curiosity and possible friendship. But these are not the point of my original post. Perhaps you can browse it to see why I'm concerned.

I'm not sure what you are concerned about but was casually interested to ask. The thread has a question in the title, but your initial post makes it clear you are aren't offended by stereotyping and you are interested, for whatever reasons in hearing accounts of white straight men who curious about black cock. That is what I take to be the point of the initial post. Your subsequent comments take on a different tone referring to stereotyping and juvenile behaviour, so I was wondering what is at the heart of your "concern" and if you felt offended in some way.

Your point is well taken. I'll attempt to clarify by asking you to step out of your shoes for a bit. You're 100% gay, but imply that you understand what it is to be a White heterosexual man. So, in a leap to understand what it's like to be a Black, non Gay Man, try putting yourself in my shoes.

Scenarìo:
You randomly meet sober, seemingly friendly White men in social settings. And you see these people around on subsequent occasions over time, You take them at face value and assume that they are interested in your professional outlook, political leaning, beautiful women and family. You don't assume racial bias or bigotry. They've done or said nothing to lead your thinking in that direction.
So each time you are perhaps only 1 0f 5 Black men in a room of 150 people. And on this 3rd or 4th random meeting , one on one with each of these men, they become more familiar, humorous and finally make references to what "you black guys" have swinging down below. they have never seen your junk.
Note; This dick humor happens regularly and it wreaks of myths experienced by your ancestors over the centuries.

Now, your question: Do I find the questions and humor offensive? Initially, yes, I definitely did.
But now, after the boring repetition over time, I discount the source, them, and understand these guys to be limited, immature and clueless.

They take us from being two Amrican men, to two men with differences based on race. And I feel sad for them because they've nipped what could have been a great friendship in the bud.

Well if they are not drunk, bringing up this topic might be weird. The initial post implied that theses men were drunk. I've never gotten the question from a white guy and I am not a white guy so I really can't respond for them.

But in my two cents, drunk curiosity is no big deal, especially sexual. It's all in fun. I also would not be offended by the question. Some black men may feel different about this (that's okay), but even though we may be American men, there are, in fact, physical and cultural differences between us which I don't like to downplay.

And with the question and posts on LPSG, drunk dick humor is nothing, lol!

I am a Black man who ended up with a larger than average penis. There..I Said it. But,

Regarding the physical differences that you've observed, would you also attribute an immense cock to Black men? Lol

Immense? No, I'm not saying we have 12 inch cocks. The myth is that we are hung like horses (that's the animalistic racial part of it; i.e. calling us animals). Do we hang a bit lower because of genetic differences? Likely, yeah. All of us? Nah. The observation was not someone's imagination. African men tend to hang a bit lower, that's all. It's genetic. Not a huge difference, though.

OK from a straight white guy that has been interacting with African-Americans in personal and professional environments for going on five decades plus.

It may be less about your endowment & sexuality and more about different peoples comfort levels. You may just have the charisma or personality for people to open up in front of you. Some people say I have that blessing. My family has said I can shoot the shit with most anyone and everyone, old people, young people, babies, dogs, lingerie mannequins, telemarketers, you get the idea...

There are some black people I can relate to better than Caucasians, not because of color but because of our professional backgrounds or how we grew up. Having said that I am usually more guarded about what I will say around a white person, but regardless I will usually not start talking shit on a private level such as sex, who is fucking who, whether or not my wife will blow me with ice cubes in her mouth or pecker size unless the other person hasn't gone there first.

If it is just bullshit banter then I am OK with the banter, but if the person is acting like a narcissistic, arrogant ass fixated on his immense endowment, I will usually make a note to self that said individual is a fuck whit and limit my face time with them regardless of ethnicity.

This is a great, we'll thought out reply. Heads up: people think of us in the same way. So it sounds like you feel it's my charisma that brings on all of the dick talk from strangers. What's a man to do?

Wondering, do you ever act on that 10%? :)
