Sounds like they are buying into stereotypes. I have always thought there is an under-current of jealousy of black men by white men, going all the way back to the days of slavery, which accounts to a degree for some of the cruelty back then. Do you OP, feel these men are trying to ask you something or perhaps inviting you to play with them or their wives? False assumptions often show them selves after a few drinks, too..

I am white, sometimes some friends joked that I am (was?) half black, because my size down there; innocente jokes between young guys, they didn't even really believe to the stereotype IMHO. I would never make allusions to penis size related to ethnicity with a black or asian guy, it is just retarded.

If you really want to be progressive, you will want to leave off using retarded in that way too.

Looking for perspective from generally open-minded,sociable, straight white men.

I'm a generally open-minded, sociable, and mostly straight,Black man. I have Lots of associates, meet people easily, and I’m willing to talk honestly about any subject at hand. But.... Ive detected a peculiar pattern. What is it, you ask?

Oftentimes, after I've encountered White men about 3 or 4 times, one-on-one, after a couple of beers, I hear light-hearted jokes, questions and implications about the size of my junk.
(Note: We really don't know each other that well. And they have no way of knowing if my penis hangs large or small.

When I hear these questions, my interpretation is: " Most of you guys are larger than us guys". Or even more personal, your dick is much bigger than mine.

I also think that after a few more brews, they might be willing to try something new.

Please note: The. conversation stays jovial and, no, I am not offended.

What's your take on this scenario? If you have done this at times, please tell me why. Thanks.

I am an open-minded,sociable, straight white man and I don't hold racist attitudes. This is something I probably would not do.
I am curious. What kind of questions are you being asked by these guys?
I have talked about dick size with my friends, and joked. I've even heard many jokes among my white friends about black guys' dicks being bigger. But it is not something I would bring up with a black guy, especially one I only knew casually and wasn't a close friend. I am glad you are not offended, but it is a topic I would not touch as a white guy, because I would be afraid the black guy would take it the wrong way. I am also not that curious. I wouldn't want you to pull it out or anything. With that said, the perception these guys seem to have is fairly common among white men. Most would say that black guys are bigger. This may be from what they see in porn or what they hear, but probably more from just what they see in general. I can remember seeing some black micro-dicks, but in general, it seems that black guys are bigger and thicker than white guys, or at least they are bigger in a flaccid state. I don't mean that I think, or that most white guys think that that black guys are huge and white guys are small. I mean that most white guys have probably noticed the same difference.

When White men joke about larger black Dickson, what specifically is the basis for humor? Why do you think it's funny? Are they implying that they, too, are so endowed? Is it large penis envy? If they, too, were very large, as they think black men are, would the joke still be funny to them? Just curious.

I've never asked another dude how big their junk is, regardless of race.

I've exchanged intimate details with a number of women over the years, but never other guys.

I don't really think it is funny. I'm not usually the one making jokes. I have to say, I'm not interested in touching a black guy's dick. I'm also just not into seeing black guys in porn. It is a big genre in porn though. I think because at one time, black men doing white women was such a taboo. This is where the humor in the joke comes from. It is slightly unsettling. It borders on two forbidden topics: 1)"Flipping another man's meat" as the Heineken light commercial says, that is, talking about another man's junk, and 2) the mystique of interracial love.

Yes, sometimes when white men joke about the size of a black man's dick, it is a kind of indirect boast. Like, "I must be part black." Or "I'm black from the waist down". Things like that. Friends may also talk up a friend of theirs, just to boost his confidence, to him, or to talk him up to a potential female partner, with jokes like I have mentioned above - whether or not the guy in question actually has a big dick. They may also make these kind of jokes for seemingly no reason, in cases where the guy in question actually does have a pretty big dick, and this is known among the friends. Some bigger guys are proud, and will talk, or show off. Friends of bigger guys, often feel the need to joke about this. Firstly because they are a little uncomfortable, and this is the source of a great deal of what constitutes humor. Secondly, again because it is a form of indirect boast. If you point out a bigger guy as having a dick that is large enough to be noteworthy, it is hardly ever taken as a slight to him. It usually means that the guy making the joke means to point up, subtly, that while his friend is "huge" or "hung like Mandingo" or whatever, he himself is of a pretty respectable size, even if it falls more within the typical range.

Yes, I think there is a lot of large penis envy. Especially among younger guys. Some men, large and small, never give the size of their dicks a thought, but for many others penis size is a big concern. I think many men are confident about their penis, except if they happen to see somebody who is much bigger. It seems like seeing black guys who are a least much bigger flaccid is a common disconcerting experience for white men. It makes them a little nervous, but making jokes about it, diffuses this tension in some ways.

And finally yes, the larger a guy's penis is, the more likely he is to joke about it. Not every white man though thinks that black guys are bigger, and some vehemently dispute the notion, from a sense of scientific correctness, from a need to combat bias or stereotyped notion, as well as from a possible sense of inadequacy, or again as a form of indirect boast.

Uh, yes. Asking another dude how big his junk is runs a very big risk of being creepy. That is not what we are talking about here though.

Good, thoughtful reply. Sounds like you get why they may do it. And given the stereotypes, you can see how such comments are off putting?

I am sorry. I don't understand the question. What stereotypes do you mean, and who would such comments be off-putting to?

It works the other way too, trust me. When white guys find out your black and your dick is smaller than theirs, they joke about it. Get more macho with you guess u could say. Make puns abt it

As others have said I find it creepy, rude, and playing into stereotypes. Whether you find those stereotypes complimentary or not, they are still based on prejudice and I would be suspicious of anyone raising such matters. If the person is a casual acquaintance I would make a point to stay away from that person. Don't want folks like that in my life.

He warned her that she would be ruined inside.
  1. Beyond the racial assumptions, that's such a weird creepy thing for a father to be thinking about or discussing with his daughter
  2. If a baby can get through there, I think she'll be okay.
