I, too, was raised with the don't-even-think-of-going-in-there attitude about Mother's handbag. So I'd schlep it to you, too, Sammygirly before opening the forbidden myself.

I've always loved women who carry huge purses with lots of stuff in them. My mom and my sisters are big purse-having kind of women. One of my sisters goes a bit over board though. We joke and call her purses her "luggage.":biggrin:

My mom always used to let me go through her purse when I was a child, on the condition that I was cleaning it out for her. I remember she'd be cooking and I'd be at the table behind her constantly asking "Mom, do you still need this?"

My mom and my sisters always also had huge makeup bags filled with tons of makeup. I remember the one thing they would get mad at me and my brother for was using their eyeliner sharpeners to sharpen our pencils.:redface:

I hate carrying purses. A friend of mine bought me a Seat Belt bag wristlet (from http://www.seatbeltbags.com) that I absolutely love-- it's small and has a wrist strap that I also hang my keys from. It's one of the only things I've carried on a regular basis that is purse like.
