I'd love a few quiet day in Geiranger with you. That sounds like so much fun! TheBF is cool. I know that the two of you would hit it off. :biggrin1:

I can see why you'd choose sea kayaking. A long time ago I used to enjoy canoeing, especially because it's so quiet that you can glide along and it won't disturb animals that come to the river bank to drink. It was so peaceful and beautiful. I imagine that sea kayaking is similar, but with the added challenge of handling waves. Now that I know that one can glide up next to dolphins and whales, now I'm considering adding sea kayaking, too!

I can't add everything, though. There is so much beauty in the world that one cannot see all of it...
You're lovely, Petite. :smile::tongue:

Petite I'll have to think about some of the highlights of the rollercoaster ride my life has been. Some of them are too personal to recount but I have done most of the things on your list.
One thing I would like is for Joll to get a nice house with a swimming pool and I would like to pee in it.

To take the conversation in a slightly different direction, I've accomplished much of my bucket list when it comes to travel, and what was magical isn't always what I expected. I've ticked off 95 countries, all US states, all Australian states, all Canadian provinces. Quantity does not equate to quality though. What sits with me (and this may obviously be different for others) are encounters with nature more than anything such as:

-Camping on Molokai and looking up at crystal clear night sky and seeing constellations, galaxies and shooting stars. Living in urban areas my whole life, I had no idea skies like that really existed. It's breathtaking to get remote and just look at the night sky.
-Seeing animals up close in the wild such as whales, bears, gorillas, chimps, tigers, wombats, you name it. It's a pleasure for me and makes me remember that the Earth is fragile.
-The scale of physical nature such as being on the Tundra on the North Slope of Alaska and seeing polar bears, seeing a volano erupt, seeing geysers, hiking in blooming mountain meadows or blooming deserts, seeing a glacier calf, snorkeling in a healthy coral reef, listening to the sound of aspens in the wind, or the smell of lavender fields in bloom. It just makes you feel overwhelmed!

From a people point of view, what is most special is having unexpected encounteres and connections. When travelling, getting invited into someone's home for a meal and to meet their family is special. When I think of trips, these human memories come to mind before seeing big things like Machu Picchu, Taj Mahal, Angor Wat, etc. It's worth considering when you visit these places, so are thousands of other people at the same time who are also completing their bucket lists! ;-)

What's left on my bucket list for travel is to see national parks in Madagascar, see Easter Island/Rapa Nui, and see the Pantanal of Brazil.

My bucket lists for sex and other topics would require a different post.

Albeit hardly an exhaustive list, here are mine:
  • going on a Eurotrip
  • pilgrimaging religious sites in places like the Middle East, France and Italy
  • seeing the 8 wonders of the world
  • learning a 4th language (hopefully German, if I can get passed the beginner stages)
  • newsreading on a radio show
  • doing a 4x4 trip up Africa
  • abseiling and tree-top canopying (soon, I hope)
  • witnessing the Ball Drop in times square on New Year's Eve
  • mentoring someone (hopefully my son) and teaching them everything I've had to learn the hard way
  • helping the less-fortunate and those in need in a sustainable way
  • and finally, being able to actually sing this song, with as few regrets as possible: I was here

Oh my god, she is incredible!
Nearly done with the 1st book, got the 2nd yesterday.
I am gonna see the American version when I get home from traveling, hope it doesn't disappoint.

She also starred in a Norwegian film this year, called 'Babycall'.
I'm Norwegian, you see. I can understand Swedish!
I just watched an interview she did with Norwegian television, in connection with the Sherlock Holmes movie, and I understood every word!:tongue1:

Well, enough of that.

I haven't read any of the books, nor have I seen her in any movie, come to think of it, but I have noticed that there's been some controversy over Mr. Stieg Larsson's authorship of the Millennium series.
His partner of 32 years, Eva Gabrielsson, has claimed the series was largely a collaboration, but because they were not married, the actual ownership of the Stieg Larsson legacy, has gone to his family, rather than her.

She also claims to be in possession of an unfinished manuscript for a fourth Millennium book.

She has even written her own: "Millennium, Stieg och jag"
(Millennium, Stieg and I.)

I actually had to do some research to write these few words.

When it comes to Noomi Rapace, I'm more likely to see her in the Sherlock Holmes movie; it has, after all, got Stephen Fry in it.
