I wonder what the avg refractory period is?

I was seeing some porn and I noticed that most porn stars seem to stay hard for a couple minutes after orgasm. I usually go down and out once I come, but I can get hard again in about 20-25 mins. I've noticed that depending how I feel about the girl or how turned on I am can sometimes change my routine and have back-to-back orgasms... I think the most I've gone without going limp is 4 in a row, but I'll probably never do that again since it becomes to sensitive after like the third orgasm.

Is there anyway to extend the refractory period? What is normal?

I can usually go about four times in a row after ejaculation, for about a 45 minute period before i need about a 10 minute break. That being said i have also gone 6 1/2 hours with a girl before i even came once. She on the other hand had the most orgasms in her life.

Also I have gotten to the point where I can orgasm without ejaculation, I belive it is called 1000 Arabian swords technique or something like that.

I've never heard of an average, but it takes me a long time to lose my hardon, and if I start up again in that time period, it just goes right back up again.

I know guys who go limp right away and lose all interest for days.

Plus the bigger I cum, the faster it falls. It seems my cock knows when the job has been done right.

The refractory period is supposed to get longer as you age, but staying in shape and having a healthy reproductive system can counteract the effects.

1.average? I learned it's up to some factors such as age, mood, guy's health condition, diseases like DM or hypertesion, medication, type of partner, and so on. Among them, I think, the age factor is the most decisive.

2. With gf, I usually can go to the second round right off the bat after getting off, however, for the 3rd and 4th, need a break at least a few munites.

3.I have no idea about aging, but I guess it would be helpful to keep your body sound and avoid mental stresses.

Porn stars typically take cialis or levitra or viagra, which is why they don't deflate straight away.

I was trained in Tantric sex so I can orgasm without ejaculation, usually three or four times before I finish with ejaculation. This technique is handy to know, but difficult to learn. In Australia sex work is legal, and I was trained by a Tantric Goddess (lovely lady) who was a registered sex worker given the intimate nature of what we were doing together. There are books around about multi-orgasmic techniques, and I read a couple but found it difficult to get it right until I did my lessons.

Most doctors say it depends on age but that is not necessarily so anymore with older men staying in shape and keeping their testosterone level high. It is all a matter of keeping aroused.

Lots of interesting responses. I did not know that age affects the ref period. I've always wanted to learn about tantric sex, yet have no idea how to start; I've practice "edging" and started doing kegel exercises.

The other day I went for two and the ref period was 5 minutes (with no fluffing or other jump-start). Afterward I was joking to my wife how it felt like we were 28 (when we first hooked up), and she said, "No, when we were 28, you'd be coming 3 times and staying hard the whole time." Damn. So yeah, age def. takes a toll, but maintaining fitness and testosterone (and having a partner you think is hot) will hold down the in-between time.

For those uncertain about this particular jargon, the male sexual "refractory period" is defined as: The recovery phase after orgasm during which it is physiologically impossible for an individual to have additional orgasms.

As a teenager my refractory period would start out at about 15 minutes and then grow by about 5 minutes per orgasm when having successive orgasms as quickly as possible. Back then I was able to have 4 or 5 orgasms over a period of 2 to 3 hours, after which I was sexually spent until the next day. Now, in my early sixties, it takes at least 30 minutes just to get it up again and 3 to 4 orgasms is the best I can muster over a period of 12 hours. So that old adage "I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was" definitely applies to most of us silver-haired types.
