Don't know about right now. I know the worst one I ever owned was a JVC hi-def camcorder. Its optical viewer failed on me and a local "authorized" repair shop I brought it to screwed up yet something else in the camera, neither of which the manufacturer (JVC) was willing to cover. I haven't bought anything with their name on it since.

My camera is always the brand of my computer so it is all in sink with each other. So the brand can vary depending on what you already own or what you want to accomplish with the camera.

^yes, our current cam is the Samsung H200 listed in the top ten above. It offered hi-end viddys for a quite economical price tag. Didn't know it was among the best, though. It's actually smaller than pictured. Good things in small packages.

Flip Mino looks good. The article is a bit out of date and the price difference between the flip Ultra HD and the Mino aren't that much.

I was actually going to buy one before I decided to just get a Samsung Galaxy S2 or other smart / super phone. The S2 records in 1080p and takes photos too.

The "best" is a loaded question. Are you talking about recording video of the wife and kids and amateur home porn or are you talking HD Channel documentary quality. It doesn't matter if you're spending $1,000 or $45,000, every videographer, including myself, is married to a particular brand and constantly argues which offers the best CMOS and low light quality. Then there's the lense issue.

Bon chance.

lol. I'd like to get something that can shoot some quality live footage from shows, mostly. Something relatively small and portable would be ideal.
