I've been to a couple of baths, but I'm looking at a couple online that aren't baths but "sex clubs." What's the difference?
In LA, I've been to two midtowns, both disgusting rat holes that I'll never go back to. But on bathhouse addict, there these two, The Zone LA and the Slammer Club both described as "sex clubs"

Bathhouse Addict

What's the difference? Any one ever been to any of these?
Anyone been to a bath/sex club that's not a disgusting shit hole full of old people?

I've never been to any type of bath house/sex club; but a friend of mine went to what was advertised as a Spa and it turned out to be a sex club but he was OK with that.

No matter how you look or what types of men you prefer you can probably find people who will want you or who are your type at such places.

I know of a bath house that's near me that's apparently really nasty and people will just piss in the hallways, it's not clean, and apparently a lot of people go there and use meth and PNP and smoke meth and bareback and nobody cares.

Been to bath house - a while back - more of a relaxed atmosphere. You can swim, work-out, read, watch TV - never been to a sex club - from what I've heard - most are sleazy, and only one thing to do!

If it's your bag - again, different stokes, etc.

There is no inherent difference based on the term "sex club", which can mean anything from a bathhouse to a vermin-infested pit. But a "bathhouse/sauna" should have showers at the bare minimum.

There are several down here in SoFla. I went to one in Miami that was a hell-hole with mould growing half-way up the wall, but it still had showers, a jacuzzi and a pool. I've been to a similar place in Ft Lauderdale, as well as a different one with an excellently-appointed gym and roman columns around an enormous pool that was clean and beautiful.

Back when I lived in France, I must have gone to about a dozen in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Stiges. The same standards applied: some were gorgeous, some were terrible.

And at no time in the 32 years that I've frequented such places can I say that it was "full of old people": there's always been a real diversity in clientele, especially on weekends. Everyone I've ever been to has had specials on specific nights with discounted rates for guys under 25. maybe you should go on one of those nights.

As with everything, generalizations are generally wrong.

Technically, the difference is clothing and privacy. Several cities regulate these establishments and use the same basic criteria: if the general habit is to be given a towel and locker for your clothes and walk around naked/towelled it is a bathhouse (and generally has water and private rooms to rent). A sex club, at least by SF definitions is usually a place where you walk around at least mostly clothed, and where there are not private rooms. A lot of this goes back to public health departments' and the early days of AIDS. Bathouses in some cities were closed because of public health concerns about unsafe sex being more likely to occur in private rooms. Sex clubs generally sprang up more recently to get aout zoning or publich health oversight. Despite this, the two terms can used interchangeably.

The much older use of the term bathhouse is European and meant a public bath for soaking, massage and non-sexual interaction, like a Turkish or Russian bath or a Japanese ritualized bathing house.

Who the hell goes to a bath house to work out, read, watch TV, or do things that do not involve sex?

I have been to numerous places from San Diego, Long beach, Palm Springs and Private underground clubs in Hollywood. Both bathhouses and Sex clubs can be a total blast.

Sex clubs are the most fun if you like to watch. You will see things you only imagined happened in pornos. Pitch black rooms, trampoline type sling apparatus, saloon door cubicles so you you can look over and get more than an eyeful. This of course was 15 years ago when I WAS A CATCH. Now that I am 45, I fall into the TROLL range. LOL

Every one should try them or at least go see the action.
