What is missing in my LIFE...
My twin cats!!!
I think a load of you know this already.
Then my MIND will not be so STRESSED out like I have been for almost four and a half years!! I miss my KIDS!! So damn bad!!!
Once hubby leaves here we can get them back!!
You can not bring outside cats here unless they are micro chipped and I will NEVER micro chip my DAMN kids!!!!!!! They are in door cats, why should I have to chip them? Then REAL KIDS should be chipped also!!!!!!

It might help if u didn't play games with peoples heads....Just sayin....

I don't bother you. I don't make snarky comments about you or towards you or anyone else here.

If it makes you that happy to be always making remarks in response to my posts in particular, why don't you ask me to leave? Is that what you want?

Pay no heed, dude. I thought it was a bit off, too.

Two things would make me happier. Being half a planet away from my grown daughter sucks. I want to be more in her life. The other is doing work that has more meaning. My work is creative and not easy, but it does very little for the environment. I'd like to work in a green industry and I think there are huge opportunities to do interesting and profitable work. I've never been afraid to radically change my life and I feel a big one coming soon.

I belong to one and while I enjoy the discussion of the book, during the social aspect we tend to fall back on team sports, child rearing and the cost of sending your children to private schools.

Sigh.

You're deflating my probably unrealistic image of sophisticated New Yorkers discussing the writings of Foucault and Camus over a glass of wine.

You remind me of me.

Likewise.

Why do so many married women say they are so lonely?

See my bit about child rearing, fishing, and NASCAR above.

Seriously, though, some time ago earllogjam started a thread lamenting the boredom of dwelling in the 'burbs. It seems he was right.

To continue living what I love and to also continue learning, developing and growing into what that truly means.
Following my bliss.
Learing to trust that life will always nudge me towards my highest good.
Letting go of things that, in the long run in life, do not matter one bit.
Being comfortable with uncertainty and happy with the fact that I chose to be brave in facing it and not running away from it.

A few good people, at the end of the day, I can call "friend".
Continue avoiding pissing contests and never, never, never give up.

Why? Because these things place me in the neighborhood of good things. Happiness being in that particular "hood".

Excellent post! I identify fully.

I enjoy your posts very much:smile:.

What would be your perfect place? Has any place come close?

I used to think it was gonna be NYC, but boy was I wrong. I like Provincetown or Key West but they've become so commercialized.

I can't think of a city that has really come close to my perfect place. Bologna perhaps. No, I guess the perfect place is my home. I've always thought the ideal place is where all your closest friends and family are.

Not everyone is as predatory as you are when it comes to sex or love. For some of us (me!) not knowing how to date or be in a relationship is a seriously liability at our age and that, for many other people, is a turn-off.

Moi predatory? Yikes. Jason if you can make friends you know how to date. It's really not very complicated.

Outstanding warrant, eh?

Indeed. This is the US. Escaping commercialism is difficult. Maybe at some point you can move in to that seaside house despite its distance. I've heard the same thing has happened to the Russian River area. It's too bad.

And Toto too? I tend to agree with that. I know I wouldn't be happy anywhere outside of the NYC area. Everywhere else is just so much less and besides, I do have a lot of family and friends nearby. I thought of Burlington, Vermont at one point. That really is a great small city. If you haven't been you should go. It's a homey place with water and mountains and great people with New England independence of thought. Vermont is about uncommercial as America gets. They don't even allow billboards.

Oh I recall a few stories about various conquests ranging from sudden hook-ups in questionable places to making the moves on a cruise director. Ahem. It reminds me of Grace Jones in Conan the Destroyer, "When I see a man, I take him!" It's cool though. Confidence counts for a lot.

I wish I had better gaydar. Mine's made of tinfoil, duct tape, and wire hangers.

Gaydar isn't exactly rocket science and no ever masters it. If someone tells you they have, they are most certainly full of it. It is a game of hit and miss.

Besides, who cares enough to worry about such things?

You are just fine Jason and you have more important things going for you, it all evens out in the wash.

Just my two centavos

Nah, more like homesickness and having to get away from all those rude abrasive types.

Actually the Russian River area is still pretty uncommercialized. It's just that a lot of the gay men have disappeared because of the epidemic or just scattered to the winds destroying a critical mass that once thrived up there for gay guys.

I'm not much for college towns as I lived in one for 4 years. But anywhere is better than Ithaca.

Yikes, I forgot I wrote about the escapade with the hotel director on the cruise ship here. Geez - it's not like I seduce these people...it just happens.

Just try to strike up a conversation with all guys that make you tingle. What do you have to loose? I've never gotten beaten up by a straight guy that I've hit on - not that I do it often.

Ithaca is horrible I have a few cousins who went to Ithaca (and one to Cornell) and I think it scarred them for life. The cloudy rainy cold thing there is the stuff of Prozac sales. Really, Burlington is exceptional because it's not just a college town. It has a large and thriving gay population (even if they are mostly lesbians). If you ever get the hankering to do the Vermont-country-inn-in-autumn kind of thing, stop by for a day or two.

Abrasive! You wanna make something of it buddy? Huh

Hmmm... Someday I'd like to head up to the Russian River area if only to visit California Carnivores in Sebastapol. There's also a gay men's retreat place where Body Electric frequently holds seminars and I have a friend in Napa I'd like to see.

It's interesting how those things happen to some people and not others. I need to learn how to attract people better. I'm terrible at it. We're having a party for fleshlightmouth on Saturday and I hope we can go to The Eagle afterward. Maybe I can practice there. At least I won't have to worry about hitting-up a straight guy.

The thing that is missing in my life is validation for the work I do...and today it was in spades. I kick ass in my job and I swear once in a blue moon in would be great if the boss mentioned it...like on a loud speaker...with everyone doing cart wheels and patting me on the back...with the presentaion of a small cake. ohhhh me.
