PWNED is a typo for OWNED, and is common net slang for "owned" when used in the sense of "I owned you," meaning I really beat you, as in some game. Supposedly, this typo existed in some computer game, and when it beat you, the screen siad it PWNED you.

While on the subject of strangely spelled computer-related words, here&#39;s one from my youth:

zxnrbl (sner-bul) n. Data corrupted or rendered indecipherable by communication or transmission errors. Zxnrbl was very common in the early days of modem links.

The word originated in an advertisement for a sound board for an Apple II computer, called a Mockingboard, which according to the ad copy "makes frogs croak, princesses shriek, and martians zxnrbl." That was around the time I graduated high school, 1978.
