    1. I asked everybody who PM'd me "welcome" how big their cock was. I thought I was supposed to. .
    2. I was terrified of Madame Zora
    3. I thought I couldn't post anything in "Women's Issues". Maybe I'm still not but do anyway.
    4. None of the longtime members gave me the time of day. I had to earn their respect.
    5. I thought if I just deleted the PM's wanting hookups, x-pics, cam...that they'd leave me alone. I've since discovered the "Ignore" button if "fuck off" doesn't work.
    6. I thought everybody in "chat" was trolling for sex. That's actually true. :biggrin1:

    hehehehehe

Nice take on what it was like being new here. I hope people don't come here terrified of anyone -- and that no veteran poster gives off attitude that their respect needs to be "earned." We've seen many veteran posters recently uncovered as big frauds. Just because someone racks up thousands of posts or hangs out for a couple of months doesn't mean they are somehow more "valid" than anyone else. Being a big mouth doesn't make you right -- it just makes you a big mouth.

The chatroom is for sex?! I was wondering why Steve26 keeps offering to give me a brokeback rubdown.

I guess technically I'm still a n00b, only having been here for 2 months... but I figured the easiest way to get involved was just to 'jump in' at the deep end and get involved.... I haven't had any hate mail yet, but I'm sure it'll only be a matter of time before I start pissing people off.... (Hope not though!)

I'm surprised nobody has sent me hate mail either. Mostly if you piss someone off here they'll just roast your ass publicly and invite a fleshpile.

Yikes! I better stop hi-jacking threads then! I'll be man-hunted!

Tell us a bit more about the man-hunt, Carter. Did you give up your bounty easily or was it a struggle?

Not everybody. I for one treat the chat as if a thread without a topic. I may taunt and tease now and than, but it's only in good fun.

Agreed with you about the chat. I don't troll for sex there (or anywhere else for that matter) but it can be fun to hang out--and I go there when I wanna catch Stev26 from time to time. Now I know why he;s so busy ! ;-)

As for the chat room I find it a fun and nice place to meet n get to know ppl although it does get quiet in there at times and sure there are those who go just for the hook-up or the C2C thing :grumble: I just wish the gals would show up more :puppy_dog_eyes::flowers1:

When I was new, I thought everyone had their size in their username, as if it was the done thing.

Now I realise its only for the show offs or fakers?

I used to get a lot of PM's telling me my dick was bigger than it actually was too.

I was scared off chat after I went in once when I was new(ish) and some guy felt the need to tell me the biggest dick he ever saw was on his dog...etc and asked me to go touch my dog. I go in now once in a blue moon.

I'm kind of a wimp really, it wasn't much of a struggle! Like Sorc said, I just stuck it in the air and let them all take turns. It was kinda fun :biggrin1:

I spent a LOT of time reading through the various threads/folders, because I was usually clueless on the subject matter, much less the information being shared. This was also my first community/forum so I wanted to get a lay of the land... so to speak.

P.S. Someone can start a whole 'nother thread on why more women don't avail themselves of the chat room here more often. For me, it would pretty much start and end with the fact that you can't put anyone on Ignore in there. My idea of "chatting" isn't a random PM from someone I've never even see post here with a "Hey! What's the biggest dick you ever had?"

I still feel like a newbie and laugh when someone refers to me as one of the "old-timers"

I'm glad you got over that. She's pretty awesome.
I think I recall responding to several of your posts when you were first starting to post. Most of the time if the topic of the thread doesn't interest me, I just go on to the next one.... it's good that you have gained more confidence in this forum. I do enjoy your posts.

First of all, you CAN put people on ignore in the chat room, by clicking on their name and choosing 'ignore' on the pull-down menu that appears. Like others here, I usually pop in there to chat with some regular posters, and ignore all the exciting messages (usually from people with blank profiles) saying "c2c?" or "asl?" or "size?", or something equally exciting.

I still feel pretty much like a n00b as well, despite my highish post count, and it always surprises me when people acknowledge me directly on threads or otherwise.

The two things I was certain of when I first arrived, though:
    1) 99% of people would be self-centred assholes or fakers. Of course, I have since found out that this isn't the case at all. Only 65% of people in fact fall into these categories
    2) That various long-term members would never give me the time of day. In particular, I was convinced early on that Sorcerer loathed me. Funny old world.

Things went fairly smoothly for me here. I had been lurking for a while, so I knew the "main characters". I had done much of my learning previously on ratemyschlong.com, so I think the learning curve was much faster here. Also, I did not post that much at the beginning (I still don't post that much, I guess).

But I do remember that I sometimes had the feeling at the beginning that no one was reading or acknowledging my posts -a little bit like talking to people who don't listen to you. So it was nice when people started quoting my posts and interacting with me a little bit more. It felt like I was finally part of the community.

Having said that, I am probably still a newbie here, it's only been a few months...

I just got here last month. But, wherever I am, it's my party, and my responsibility to make sure I have a good time. Hopefully, i can bring other people along on my good time. Not everyone always gets my humor though. Plus, not everyone can handle being told the truth or having their words turned back on them. Such is life. I came here from http://www.measurection.com, which is kind of like your older, bigger, but smaller-hung brother. I think they're older anyway... going on 9 years old. Anyway, coming to one penis site from another seemed to be an easy transition. I came here because someone over there said you guys were whiny assholes (I'm paraphrasing) and I came to make sure it wasn't true before telling them you guys were cool and that they needed to stop demonizing well-hung men. I'm glad I was right and that you folks are indeed cool. Rob might like to have a peek at their site and see if there are any features he'd like to swipe. For example: over there, you cannot edit a post once someone has responded to it. Every board and the chatroom have their own moderators. They have a weekly podcast which is helping (and entertaining) thousands of men. Members who do not fill out hteir profiles at least 60 percent cannot see other profiles. I think this site has plenty of things the admins there should swipe too. They seriously need to borrow the code from the chatroom here.
