Heu...I do not understand the question. There are plenty of gay men who try to live healthy, sporty, do fitness, want to keep in condition. You make it sound as if you only meet drinking and smoking and drugs consuming guys?
He didn’t make it sound like anything to me. I believe he just asked a question. It’s possible that he is sober and wants to find like-minded people. You’re reading too negatively into the question.

As for myself I do not drink, smoke, or do any hardcore drugs. The only thing I do consume is marijuana. I micro-dose with lemonade every day to combat anxiety and depression because I don’t like the way that pharmaceutical drugs make me feel. Also, it works 10x better than Lexapro ever did.

Substance free here. I have enough brain chemistry problems without throwing other things at it myself. Also have a family history of alcoholism so I really didn't want to find out what it's like first hand. I have spoken to my psychiatrist about using marijuana instead of other anti-anxiety drugs and right now we're waiting for more research to be done, but she's open to the idea if it's found to be effective.

As a Dutchie with marijuana available all around: microdose with lemonade? Never heard about that. So you stir it in a glass? It still has effect?

I've never experimented with drugs or marijuana .

I don't smoke cigarettes after watching my mom die from cancer (she was a heavy smoker when I was a kid).

Growing up, my dad had a problem with alcohol. When I was a kid, he went to rehab a few times before he finally became sober. My second boyfriend was also an alcoholic. It was a constant problem for the 4 years we were together. It probably didn't help that I was a bartender when we met. But he ruined alcohol for me, and I quit my job because I couldn't stand the look or smell of it. It took me a long time after him before I could drink again. Even now, I might have a beer or two before I have to stop drinking.

There are plenty of sober gay men out there. The problem is gay bars used to be our hangouts, the safe place we could meet. Now there are numerous gay apps/websites, but it is making us less social (LPSG is one of the few exceptions.) You just have to look really had to find the sober ones.

Where are the gay men who don't smoke, drink alcohol, or do drugs?
Non-smoker, non-drinker, non-user.

I smoked a little bit when I was young. I'd have a couple of cigarettes at parties. I'm quite socially awkward so I did it to keep my hands busy and not stand around like an idiot. Plus it was a good excuse to go outside when my nerves got too much. Haven't done it in nearly 25 years. No desire to start again.

I tried alcohol when I turned 18 (legal age in Australia). For some reason I've never really liked the taste of it. I tried different types of beer, different types of wine, different types of spirits, different types of 'alco-pops'...I tried so many different things hoping to find 'my' drink, but I never did. I have a sweet tooth so I still try 'alco-pops' and 'fruity' cocktails, but I still can't seem to find something I want to keep drinking. A plain old orange/grape/apple/etc juice can hit the spot just fine. Plus 'alco-pops' are aimed at the just-turned-legal crowd, so a 41-year-old drinking them looks rather sad, lol.

The only drawback to being a non-drinker is that it makes it harder to meet new people. Going out with friends is no problem, but I feel a bit odd hanging out in a bar by myself. But that could be my social awkwardness, rather than my non-drinking.

As for drugs, never tried them. If someone had offered me marijuana at parties in my youth, I think I would have tried it. But as I've gotten older, I've gotten less and less curious about it. I've never wanted to try anything harder.

I have zero interest in 'poppers' and zero interest in the people who use them.

It’s a much more complicated process than that mainly due to taste and potency.
The first step is to decarboxylate the marijuana by baking ground up leaves for about 30 minutes. This activates the thc (the chemical that’s the benefit). This once this is complete you combine the baked leaves with a either Everclear (a high alcohol content liquor but if your sober it’s an obvious no go) or with vegetable glycerin. Once the product is combined, preferably in an airtight container, you need to leave it sit in a cool dark place for a length of time to absorb. Minimum for a solid level of potency is around 2 weeks. After the time to absorb you can then make the lemonade. There are multiple solid recipes online for the lemonade portion and I prefer the kind that mixes in a fruit juice as well. I think it helps with the taste. I drink about 3/4-1 1/4 fluid US ounces in the morning and I feel great throughout the day. It’s made a huge difference in my day to day.

they do exist, I dated such a guy for over 7 years, he didn't mind that we often met up with friends at bars and yes he was very healthily minded. There are lots of us that don't smoke or do drugs too. I don't think its that hard to find?

I quit smoking and drastically cut back on drinking. Maybe one G&T a month or two glasses of wine. I also cut out the cocaine and weed is really on my on a full moon. I have two kittens who depend on me now so everything has changed.

Just joined. Does an occasional bottle of beer ruin the mood? Other than that during my heyday I have been around bouncers with guns and partygoers with tons of drugs, but never into any at all. Still an oversized baby in my mid 40s.

I've been sober and drug free since before most of you were born.
Grew up fundamentalist and knew from an early age that I wanted to:
1. Drink excessively
2. Try as many drugs as possible and
3. Have sex with men.

The trouble was that I thought #1 and #2 were necessary for #3. In reality, #3 is much more fun without booze and drugs.
35 years and counting.
Also, no tobacco or poppers.
