I prefer Pistachios to Sunflower seeds.

Twice as salty, can't eat the shell.

Other guilty pleasures when I was younger:

-Chocolate chip cookies with marble cheese on top
-pizza pockets
-Captain Crunch by the bowlful.

pistachios  Ditto for cashews, but I go through them too fast. Pistachios have the advantage of shells that force you to eat slower.

Guilty pleasures:
... chicken wings, sausage on a bun from street vendors, belgian waffles...

Anyone who ate ... Wonder Bread as a kid should live forever or at least be well preserved.
Wonder used to advertise that it built "strong bodies, twelve ways." One day it occurred to me that they never ever told us what the twelve ways actually were. Eventually the same thing occurred to the FTC, and Wonder had to drop the claim. I suppose I can guess what one of the ways might have been, but that still leaves eleven.

Cheetos. Is that shade of orange found in nature?

One of my biggest guilty pleasures ever since they were introduced are Flamin' Hot Cheetos. I can eat half of one of the big bags in one sitting. It's quite embarrassing and disgusting walking around with red-stained fingers.

Ok,

Why hasnt anyone mentioned vienna sausages and potted meat, chicken ala king or creamed chipped beef?

Potted meat and mayonnaise sandwiches are heavenly! And vienna sausages smooshed on saltine crackers are a delicacy!:biggrin1:

Nachos from 7-Eleven, Hot Pockets, and orange-flavored push up pops from Walgreens are also things that I ate constantly when I was younger, and which I now feel guilty eating.

Here goes:

Pop Tarts
Captain Crunch Cereal (nothing like sugar in the morning for health)
All take out Chinese Food (salt laden, pork fat filled, MSG nightmare)
Kraft Mac and Cheese (the glowing orange powder variety)
Swanson's TV dinners - all types esp Hungry Man - frozen pot pies too
Dominos Pizza- they tasted good frozen too
Cup O Noodles -
Frozen Corn Dogs
Hamburger Helper - (salt, artificial flavor and starch in a box)
Pez
Bubblicious gum
Diet Coke (this is so vile now, can't even smell the stuff without gaging)
Oscar Meyer mystery meat - bologna, olive loaf, processed cotto salami
Cheetos (crunchy fluorecent orange variety)
American Cheese -(square slices individually plastic wraped)
Deviled Corned Beef spread
Instant Cake mix
Green, Red, Orange, Yellow Jell-O
Margarine
Kool-Aid (pure junk -sugar, artificial coloring, artificial flavor, preservative)

Boy it's amazing I'm alive today. What a childhood diet.
Anything chocolate is considered health food so it ain't on the list.

Sunflower seeds. In bulk. I mean eating them for like two hours straight spitting the shells into a cup. It's almost as bad as picking your nose in public.

Bliss, you and Heather could try eating them my way: I eat the shells from sunflower seeds. LOL

Don't ever take a long distance train in China then.

My last one (Xining to Guangzho via Lhanghou) was 65hrs of people running up and down for no readily apparent reason, slurping from jam jars full of bizarre fungus tea, chewing chicken feet and cashews and other things; no cups they just spit them on the floor, gobbing and blowing their noses on the curtains all to a steady background of 100 db shreiking. Oh yes and plenty of nose picking but that just gets lost in the other stuff.

When the mess go too bad (about 1/2 inch deep of shells etc plus bottles and cans) the car attendent would brush the detritus into a huge bin and just tip it out the door, didn't matter if we were passing a village or what, out it went.

Maybe it's changed since then, it was a few years ago. Fun, you should see the vidz !

I agree with you about Marmite; vomit in a jar.

My nephew has me hooked on SPAM, the chipped pressed ham in a can.
It is actually quite good broiled with some feta cheese and toasted sesame seeds.

I also like spam, sliced thin and grilled. I also remember Ulster Fry though I've not seen it in years.

Spam always makes me think of Monty Python.

Gotta disagree with you Big D, I am 41 and still LOVE Wonder Bread! I buy a small loaf about once a month. It is still the best for grilled cheese, toast, and fluffernutter sammiches.

Food that should have a mercy killing!
Clear Kool-Aid (AGREE with you if it is WATERMELON Flavored)
Kool-Aid is not health food it should not be clear.
Mc Rib (DISAGREE--I LOVE those.) eewww they mold it into rib shape like Play-Doh, then paint on the grill marks hahahaha:biggrin1:
Pacific Rim Cuisine (DISAGREE--THAI food is good. More for me.)
I love Thai food! What I hate is the frou-frou name given to food for that entire region.

Cheesy Shrimp Grits (DISAGREE--you can put some really different savory cheeses: Smoked Cheddar, Havarti or Feta and various seafood--cooked savory Tilapia fillets. Thyme and Dill Salmon. Shrimp and Crab Cakes pair well with Stone Ground Grits. )
I'm from Jersey, Grits are breakfast food up here. The only thing I like mixed in with them is a bit of butter and sugar. Or my scrambled eggs, and maybe yellow american cheese or shredded Cracker Barrel extra sharp cheddar.
