Hi all, Where are you supposed to measure from, I've been measuring from the top base to the tip but I see other people measuring from the side pelvic bone which gives you about 1cm more. Which is right?

You should use a pliable tape measure, like ones used to measure garments. Place the tape measure end at the top of your cock, where you pubic bone is. Run it to the tip and you have your length. Wrap the tape measure around your cock, at around the middle point of the length of your cock, and measure using the beginning of the tape measure as a guide. Whatever the number is it should be compared to the end of the tape measure, and that should be your girth.

You can get a lot more measuring from the side than 1cm.
Proper measurement: stand, have your dick roughly parallel with the floor, and go from the top-centre only. Run it from the base to the tip, and use a book or something perpendicular to your penis to align the end of it with your measure so that you don't see an extra 1/2" from where you're looking. You can compare bone-pressed (BP - where you push the measure in at the base in) to non-bone-pressed (NBP) to see how big your dick is vs. how much is really visible.

If you measure from the side, you can definitely add another inch that way; push it in hard at the side, hold the ruler on an angle, and don't mark the end properly and you get another inch easily. Most of the claimed 8-inchers out there are really just 6" improperly measured. The 50th percentile is always low-5"s in any medically-verified, broad sample of the population, but most will think 6" is average (and that they're 6"s) because they just measure wrong.

if i GAINED 2 inches for measuring from the side i would be 10 inches,

if i measure from my balls i get 15 inches....

from the top i get 7.75-8inches and from the side i get 8 inches.
look at how they measure in porn or dildos...
some medical measure from the side,
some medical measure from the top,
either work depending on your build.

so you do not gain 1 centimeter....you gain ALOT more that that,
you gain 2 centimeters!
look out shane diesel...

Put your back flat against the wall, then measure from the wall, add another 2 inches just to make sure you got it right.

Right, so it seems that so few people measure in the same way that you can't really compare yourself to anyone, which is good I guess, stops you from feeling too insecure.

So seen as this is the PE forum, I'm 7" bone pressed (I haven't got much fat though) measured from the top, a bit over 5" around, ideally I want to be 8" x 6" is that completely unrealistic as an aim for a year?

My girlfriend is a little under 5ft and takes it all the way with ease, which I'm not complaining about but also is a little disturbing, the lies they tell you in sex education about a vagina only being 4-5". I believe in a relationship where you are comfortable with each other you would have to be bloody big to be too big.

I'm so tired of hearing that the female vagina is only maximally 4-5" in depth. Any guy who has a cock with an insertable length of 6" or more who has screwed a few chicks knows that this is bullshit, yet it gets repeated ad nauseum.

I think this particular factoid came from studies done in completely unaroused women in whom depth was measured from the remnant of the hymen to the cervical fornix. It is true that in the unaroused female the cervix is usually only 3-4 inches deep in the vaginal canal, and a small percentage of women might not elongate much with arousal, but most do. Also, the hymen or its remnants are often an inch deep to the surface of the vulva.

Before I married, I had an insertable length right around 7" about like you. I did have to be careful not to box the cervix of most of the women I had sex with, at least in some positions, but I never encountered a woman I couldn't fit the entire length of my cock into, except for two who had discomfort when I went in all the way doggy style. I could feel myself touch the far end of the vaginal canal in only about half of my partners, and then usually only in positions that allowed very deep penetration. So the 4-5" deep vagina notion is BS. I do believe that 8" of insertable length is more than a significant percentage of women would consider ideal, however.

For the purposes of PE you can measure length and girth anyway you want but try to be consistent. I would suggest you measure standing using a bone-pressed technique because it gives more repeatable measurements. If you are fairly straight a ruler works well. You can also use something like a dowel rod, mark it and measure it against a ruler. If you have a lot of curvature, a string or tape measure might work better, but you have to make sure you use consistent tension each time. Most guys measure bone-pressed length with the penis horizontal (parallel to the floor) straight down the dorsal (top) mid line.

Girth can be measured at the base, mid shaft or position of maximal girth or all three. Right at the base where the scrotal skin tends to get in the way, the string method might work best. Again, try to make sure you are measuring at the same spot, or spots using a consistent degree of tension.

A vagina can still be 4" in depth, but still able to insert a 10" dildo in to. Vagina's aren't a static size, they're more like those balloons used to make balloon animals. Measuring their 'maximum' size is a bit silly: the maximum size of a balloon would be as big as it can get right before it pops. Clearly such a metric makes no sense when talking about human organs.

Where guys get really confused is that they assume all women are built and respond to sex in the same way. There is actually an incredible amount of variety.

The anterior fornix (front of the cervical opening) is where a _lot_ of women (in my experience) "bottom out", because it's extremely sensitive and painful a little beyond there. However, for a sizable portion of women that area feels really, really good. Again, just going from my experience, but the best deep spot to hit is there (usually called the a-spot), and if my dick head is feeling that hard bump on it towards the end of my stroke, it feels pretty awesome for both of us.

Some girls can take it a little beyond there, but if my dick's angled just a little bit up they get hit head-on to the cervix, which very few women are in to. In my experience, that has always just caused the sex to end.

Then you have the posterior fornix (which is on the cul-de-sac, CDS), which is right at the literal end. I've been with very few women who really like that getting worked, and most can't really even feel past that point. I suspect it's because the clit/gspot/aspot/cervical opening are all being pushed against by that point, and since almost all women are pretty sensitive on at least one of those areas their mind is usually there and not the cds. That said, for those few women who do like it (again a tiny minority) it can be a really easy orgasm trigger. My problem with it is that I don't really get much out of it.. a rough, tight push against the vaginal opening, or a long stroke across the aspot + gspot feels way better to me. Their tightest part (vaginal opening) is right on my least sensitive area, so I'm mostly just feeling hard cervix pushing against my shaft, which is okay but not amazing.

So in short, there are a lot of places that can be considered the 'end' of the vagina, and since the whole thing just stretches out it's not something that can be measured in any practical sense. The point at which discomfort occurs is generally considered the end, and that varies so wildly from woman to woman.

I am about 7 inches BP with an insertable length probably around 6 maybe. I hit that little scratchy bump thing on some girls almost every time having sex, while in other girls very rarely. Im not sure if they consider depth to be the length to the bump thing, but if they do, then I'd argue its probably closer to between 6 and 7, than between 4 and 5.

How To Accurately Measure Your Penis
here he shows all the correct and incorrect ways of measuring.

side or top...dependent on curve and fat.

This made me laugh, some of the incorrect ways or measuring are hilarious. Especially that surface area one and the orbital pathway girth. Also amusingly I recognised that including your balls picture as a photographic technique a lot of guys on here tend to use lol.

Measuring along the top (as you look down on your cock) is from the Kinsey studies and signifies how much can get into a vagina. It is the vaginal fill length. Since most "members" here are gay, this becomes the anal fill length. As a measure of total cock length the Kinsey method is total bullshit. Your maximum length is when as hard as possible, extended as much as possible, up the midline top of your balls to the tip.

A 6" Kinsey is thus, an approx 8" total visible length. or TVL.

I own that abbreviation. TYVM
