Since Jesse wanted to cut off Obama's nuts...and Al Sharpton convicted of disorderly conduct Al Sharpton, convicted, police shooting, Sean Bell, protest -- amNY.com

We haven'y heard a wimper form either of them about Obama
I expected them to at least comment on the OJ trial and how he was wrongly convicted or something like that.

Maybe Obama told them to keep out of sight and SHUT UP.

When will Obama call them out of hiding?

After that shit about cutting his nuts off... Jesse Jackson can fuck off for all I care. There have been many anecdotal accounts of Mr. Jackson acting like an ass when he thought that there was nobody around or anyone listening. Jesse Jackson is truly one of those liberals who are full of shit. Martin Luther King jr. didn't trust him and thought that he was overly ambitious and dangerous. Al Sharpton just isn't that intelligent of a man to be in the limelight now... he just doesn't have what it takes intellectually to be of any use to the Obama campaign... he is radioactive and makes black people look silly to conservatives. I don't personally have any problem with the guy, but he is a lightweight and needs to stay out of the public eye, atleast until the election is over.

As stated, they were Clinton supporters.

Oh wait, you think that Obama is in charge of them for some reason. Could that be because they're black?

Oh that's not racist in the least.

Muzzle?
Whatever the reasoning behind their silence, it is self-imposed as they were/are decidedly anti-Obama.

Isn't the more important question Why? Why would he or the dems want them to take a higher profile? Are they the kind of politicians who would appeal to a broad base, to the center?

Obama's appeal is that it his mixed heritage doesn't matter. But he lives in a country where people like to classify others as either black or white, liberal or conservative, "us" or "them." The GOP trick is to brand people first, then abuse the hell out of them for belonging to the wrong group. There is nothing "American" about that kind of crap.

This is what is so offensive about Sarah Palin trying to resurrect racist fears by invoking Bill Ayers. Obama was 8 years old when Ayers joined the Weathermen. Ayers came to his senses, grew up, had a serious intellectual and moral conversion, and changed his mind, his beliefs, his behavior. If Palin were serious about religious values, she might remember the old biblical stories about Pharisees attacking someone for associating with prostitutes and wine-bibbers, claiming it was proof that the behavior demonstrated approval of prostitution and all that crap. By Palins' logic, the board and faculty at Illinois must also be terrorists or condone terrorism, because they hired Ayers as a professor. What a spectacle to see politicians engage in that kind of trash. What does it say about people in the US who eat it up?

Dividing people in order to rule is no way to govern in a country where those divisions make no sense, and add no value. All they do is distract people from real issues, real work, and make it harder and more expensive to get anything done.

They are definitely wearing a muzzle, but Michelle is not, she is bein' about as vocal as Cindy McCain is.

No, the REAL question is why an avowed conservative and staunch McCain supporter would feel the need to dredge them up?

What...no Willie Horton ads to run??? Times must be getting fuckin' desperate.

Pathetic.

Good post, Tri. These two can only hurt Obama's campaign.

Michelle Obama was on Larry King last night with a full interview, sounding much more elaborate and diplomatic than Cindy "he voted against my son in Iraq" McCain. But thanks for your inquiry.

Perhaps now the Republicans have nothing to talk about except a $ 785 billion bailout and other "real" issues ?

Bush is now looking for the Government to "own" the banks. Comrade George W. Bushski, all he had to do is wait a few more months and then whatever happened would fall on Obama if he becomes President ? Would've backfired though if the McCainski-Palinski ticket win ?

Yep...last I looked she was on stage (after the last debate) front and center - meeting the audience and taking group photos with them and hubby...loooong after "that other one" and wifey departed the scene.

I kind of doubt that Obama has much control over them. But I do think that both of them realize what a backlash there would be if they did/said something stupid that hurt his chances.
