I decided to interrogate a subject that a friend presented to me in discussion. The lack of representation for black "daddies" in porn and on adult content websites. Where are they? Why don't they exist the way white and non-black "daddies" exist? If you aren't familiar with the term, I'll try to put it into context so that we can all have a clear understanding of the "daddy" figure as it relates to the dating world and porn. In straight porn it's usually an older man who engages sexually with a much younger female. In the gay community the "daddy" figure is pretty much the same. It is also considered a tribe in which men can identify with on dating apps. It's a way to make things simpler in finding a partner. A man that identifies as a "daddy" is letting potential suitors know that he is a mature man with plenty of life experience and "sexperience" as my friend would say. Him labelling himself as a "daddy" might also be an indication that he is seeking a younger partner. In the gay community there are multiple tribes that exist for men to identify under, some of them are twink, jock, otter, cleancut, corporate, cub, bear, pig, muscle daddy, fem, masc, etc. The list literally can go on and on depending on which dating apps you are using.

My friend is of the age where he would be considered a "daddy." He is a handsome older black man nearing the age of 60. He's in great shape and he rocks a head full of salt and pepper hair and a full beard and mustache. These are some of the attributes that you will find in daddy figures on porn sites. I'm nearly 20 years younger than my friend so I had no clue about this particular tribe. I did know, however, that it was a tribe and popular trope in mainstream porn. I desired to know more about the "daddy" figure so my friend enlightened me further. My friend's name is Joe. He and I were talking about the harm in labels like "BBC" and the racial fetishism that black men experience and how it seems to be acceptable thanks to porn. He and I pretty much agree in the fact that we both despise it. We somehow started venturing into other subjects such as the lack of representation of black twinks and black daddies in porn. Joe said if we were to believe everything showcased in porn, one would be lead to believe that black men were all of a certain age, certain penis size, hyper-masculine, hyper-sexual, and aggressive. He also joked that we would believe that black people don't engage sexually with other black people considering the only time black people are showcased is in interracial porn. I knew exactly what Joe was talking about but I wanted him to go into detail a little more about that. He said that porn was created for the consumption of "white people" so it's what they like that is produced and presented to the public. When he was saying "white people" I believe he was including any group that is not black. The only time porn is labelled interracial is when it includes a black person. When an Asian woman is having sex with a white man it's not called interracial. When a Latin woman is having sex with an Asian man it isn't labeled as interracial. I hope this part is clear. Joe feels that black bodies and especially those of black men, are commodified in porn. Black men are like a highly sought after accessory because it is known that interracial porn is popular primarily in the United States where porn is consumed heavily. Joe then opened up more about his views on being a "daddy" but not seeing the representation of black men in such positions on porn sites on parity as "white" men. He recognizes that there is some prestige in being considered a "daddy." Initially when guys would call him "daddy," he was offended by it until he realized it was meant as a compliment. A "daddy" is a prestigious label in the gay community because it implies many great attributes. Aside from physical attributes, it is the other unseen attributes that make it such a prestigious label. One would automatically think that if you are a "daddy" you have tons of wisdom, you are masculine, you are a take charge kind of person, you are established, and the cherry on top is that you come with years of sexual experience under your belt (aka sexperience). Joe asked the question, "Why No Black Daddies?" It's a valid question. You don't see them often in straight or gay porn and they are not represented on sites unless you do a strategic search by coupling words that would signify a black person such as "ebony."

The rugged alpha male who is dominant and takes what he wants are tropes that only seem to privilege white men. Those same qualities are conversely feared and reviled in black men outside of the bedroom. Joe says that it feels like black men are not viewed as desirable past the age of 50 with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are black men that fit the dreaded "BBC" stereotypes. Also black men that are super buff or have some European physical features are the exception. Joe admitted to me that younger men have referred to him as daddy on apps due to his tough and dominating appearance thanks to the beard and mustache. The beard and mustache is a mixed blessing because while it gives him a rugged look that is desired by many, it's an attribute that may cause non-black people to fear him. He admitted that it has been the reason he's been racially profiled while in shopping centers by store merchants and mall security.

Joe told me that being a black top was a double edged sword because he's seen as desirable by guys of other races and nationalities but those same guys were frightened by him as if he were going to rape them. He said they are never affectionate and they never care to see his humanity by getting to know him on a deeper level after they've gotten what they wanted from him sexually. He feels like he only existed to perform a function. He feels that many non-black bottoms come loaded with scripted fantasies and expectations. In a sense he feels that he is expected to perform and there's no fun in that. The performative aspect is another truth that we as black men sometimes feel when we navigate the dating world when it comes to engaging with people of other races. If there is a fetish under the surface it creeps into the bedroom when a black man is expected to fulfill a fantasy that one might have from seeing black men perform in porn. Black men are expected to literally "perform" for other people's sexual pleasure. There really isn't much give and take. I expect that I will get some pushback from saying this but I welcome it because it's a discussion that needs to be had.

Next time you go on a porn site or a dating app where images are being promoted start to question why you don't see black twinks or black daddies showcased. If they are showcased they are usually showcased coupled with someone white or of another race but never black-on-black. The proliferation of interracial porn is prevalent in both the gay and straight world because that is what "white" people want to see. Are we not in an age where questioning the lack of representation is a thing? How would other groups feel if they didn't see themselves represented or they didn't see themselves represented in the numerous ways in which other groups are represented? Chime in and lets have a discussion

I am not black. I have a GBM friend and he tends to date other black and Latino men as unlike everyone else of other races/ethnicities, they tend to want him for who he is as a whole person and are not 'BBC' chasers or race fetishists the way Asian and white bottoms are.

There is lots of porn made by and with black men having sex with other black men and women it is made in most major USA cities. There used to be magazines for black gay and bisexual men such as GBM, 'black inches' and others.

I am pretty sure there is black twink porn as everyone is making amateur porn and putting it on certain websites.

You need to realize that gay "Daddy Porn" is a specialty, and that it is mostly found on forums dedicated to older men, while more mainstream sites tend to focus on the younger. Even among the specialty sites, the ethnic/racial makeup of the daddies varies, according to factors like what the producers like, what they believe their target audience wants, where they draw their talent from, etc. For example, HotOderMale.com (where I did my first ever porn video, mercifully no longer online) has quite a few black men in its stable. On the other hand, Older4Me.com (where I did my last porn video) has few, but by virtue of their location, they tend to film local people in communities where the population runs mostly white/latino.

Also, you would be surprised to learn the actual ages of some porn stars. For example, there is one major black porn model that I've known personally for years, who passes for early 40s (and that's what his bio says), but is in fact in his late 50's. He could present himself as "Older Daddy," but he doesn't look it, so it really wouldn't work, and his career is probably better served by appearing younger.

just took a peek at the hot older male site. there are about 600 models listed, and around 20 (less than 1% ) of the models are Black. not trying to disprove your point, but it's just interesting to consider the range of what different folks might perceive as "quite a few," you know?

Your estimate is off. I did not have time to check all 600, but I did look at all photos in the entire H.O.M. "Big Dicks" category (which is often what people look at when seeking gay porn) when I made my statement. In that category alone, there a 23 black models, out of a total of 173, which works out to13.3% black. According to the US Census Bureau, 13.4% of the US population identifies as black, exactly matching the representation on the site.

Now about your numbers, even if your count were correct (which it cannot be, since my sub-category contains more men of color than you count for the entire site), 20/600 = 3.3%, which is not less than 1 % as you claim.

@ericbear I will have to check some of the sites specific to daddy porn to see if what you say is true. I chose to check Pornhub which is the most popular porn site to see how prevalent "black daddies" are on the site without having to type "black" or "ebony" before and I'm going to stick to my claims that black men are not represented on the same scale as other men and when they are it's usually an interracial scene. At the bottom of the site there are tabs called "searches related to..." that you can click to find similar porn and when I clicked those tabs it was basically the same thing. Nothing but older white men engaging with younger people.

Furthermore, we have to be careful about using the percentages of black people in the United States to argue why certain black groups are not represented in parity with other races. If that's an argument then I want to know why there is not greater representation for Latino men in porn than black men.

Even if this doesn't specifically answer to your question, I think it could give some interesting hints to understand better the situation.
It's also very interesting to see the difference between most searched terms worldwide or by nations.
The impact of cultural differences it's huge.

Not to be that guy, but 20 on 600 is 3,3%. To be less than 1% they should be less than 6 on 600.
Still a substantial difference however. I have not confirmed those ratios but it still confirms that black daddies are not represented on par with nonblack.

I doubt that black males are under represented in gay porn overall. To the extent that they are under represented it would probably be more in the young twink category than anywhere else since that category is so dominated by eastern european porn sites. That said the USA has guys like Liam Cyber who are killing it on OF!

If his data were correct, of course. But the point was the huge mistake in data reading.
I really suggest to read the pornhub statistics. They explain also why people outside of US have a totally different perspective on the situation.

“Joe said if we were to believe everything showcased in porn, one would be lead to believe that black men were all of a certain age, certain penis size, hyper-masculine, hyper-sexual, and aggressive. He also joked that we would believe that black people don't engage sexually with other black people considering the only time black people are showcased is in interracial porn.”

This is entirely false. Black/Black porn is far more dominant than interracial porn. Black studios and Black Onlyfans have a wide audience of Black viewers. The “I’m offended by BBC” is getting so vapid because it only applies to interracial porn. There is no way Black gay men are always deemed to be tops when we have sex with Black bottoms all the time. These descriptions you give are based on some outdated studio porn that hardly any watches anymore. There is so much diversity in Black porn.

The reason “daddies” might not exist is because it doesn’t appeal to a Black audience the same way it appeals to a White audience. To be honest, Black people age a lot slower than White people (due to melanin) so a Black 40 year old wouldn’t be considered a daddy like a White 40 year would be. Of course there are other attributes like money and experience, but again, I’ve always been Black and the “daddy” thing is not something that’s prominent in our culture.

Gay Black men don’t care about the BBC thing. It bears 0 relevance when both parties engaging in sex are Black. A big dick is just a big dick. We don’t go around calling ourselves “BBC”. That’s not a phenomenon in our community. Labels like “twink” and “otter” is not part of our community either. Black men are genetically less hairy than White men (yes, that’s a fact), so you’re not going to find a Black “otter” category. We also do refer to younger Black men as twinks.

This honestly seems like a non-issue. Every culture brings with it its own uniqueness.

Welcome. You always seem to find my threads with the same talking points. I won't engage with you too much because last time you derailed the topic with name calling. I'll simply say that You are wrong. Onlyfans is rather new and yes it is gaining popularity but it is also the death of porn as an industry. Most are not onboard with onlyfans just yet. Young people are. Furthermore, the descriptions still remain regardless of whether you feel they are outdated.

You said "Daddies" is not something that appeals to black audiences and I think you should not speak for the entire group. I know many who do find enjoyment in daddy porn but would rather see men that look like them. My friend that I spoke of is one of them. Older men should not be excluded. I think most of your assumptions about black men are based on young black men but even then I think you are wrong because I'm young and I tend to be attracted to more mature men.

As far as some of the labels they exist on just about every dating app so they are apart of our culture whether we want them to be or not. Otter is not so much about being hairy as it is about a specific body type. Oh and I know plenty of hairy black men.

You are of the idea that the whole "BBC" thing is a non-issue for most black men. I know this not to be true. I've talked to enough black men to know that it's not something that they particularly care for and some of my posts on this site have yielded many private messages to me from black men who are in agreeance. I don't intend to ever speak for all black men but I am speaking for those that do find issue with it and for those that don't care they are welcome to accept whatever labels are placed on them even if it is something they feel is seemingly positive.

I was curious and checked pornhub.
Black Daddy search video shows 5370 results, while White Daddy shows 3793.

I don’t spend enough time on this website to know which users I respond to. I just find an interesting thread and respond.

I’m not speaking for ALL Black men. I am speaking for the CULTURE. Just because you know 4 or 5 Black men who are insecure about the BBC thing doesn’t mean that that is a general insecurity felt by the culture at large. And again, just because you know 4 or 5 hairy Black men does not negate the fact that Black men are not as hairy as White me due to simple genetics. Sub Saharan Africa is on the equator. It’s hot! No need for hairy bodies. This is simply why we don’t have the same labels.

I commune with Black men. I visit predominantly Black bars/clubs/events in Atlanta, D.C., NYC, etc., and the niches that exist in White spaces are not present there. Also, the men are not crying about racial stereotypes because the dominant group in those spaces is Black men. If someone has a big dick, they just have a big dick. No one says BBC unless a White person beings it up.

Most of the Black men on this site frequent the Urban Celebrity Thread; there, no one is crying about Blacks not being represented in White space. We’ve created our own space where we are comfortable and represented. To desire Black men to acclimate into these White spaces is to uphold White supremacy.

You don’t have to agree with me. You didn’t open up this topic just to have people agree with you. But I’m speaking from reality.
