Personally, I would discount a plea for death inspired by religious fanatacism on the grounds of it being irrational.

But then, you guys would mostly love to see them fry - slowly.

Tough call for Barak. Where do you think he will go?

Hopefully Obama figures out a way to conduct fair trials.
I'm more concerned about how Obama will handle the innocent inmates that remain imprisoned.

I think he'll go anyplace where there is no question as to the applicability of US and/or international laws regarding the treatment and disposition of persons captured during armed conflict. The Gitmo site was selected specifically on the advice of Gonzales et al because its status of not being a US state or territory gave Bush the shaky legal footing to claim that habeas corpus and other rights afforded everyone (not just citizens) in the country by our Constitution did not apply. Combined with the weasely semantic declaration of the detainees held there as "enemy combatants" as opposed to "prisoners of war," the administration had the makings of its very own oubliette for its War on Terror.

I'm not anxious to see anyone fried, but tried.
