Is where you live affecting your ability to get outside during the pandemic?

I live in a single family dwelling in the suburbs. There’s unlimited ability to go outside and not come within 100 feet of another person. Or, many times, 100 yards of another person.

Where you’re at, are you restricted? Can you distance yourself and still get out?

I'm very lucky to live on a large chunk of land, so I have a sizable yard which is fairly secluded from my nearest neighbors. I also happen to live right on the edge of our city limits, so my backyard is basically open desert. I can just walk outside and go for a hike, and there are 0 other people around.

I’m in the ‘burbs in a quiet older neighborhood. I have lots of space and can get out. The neighbors are friendly but we all seem to social distance naturally. However, I will admit it’s been too quiet lately. As it warms up, I will be outside more often, and also walking around the block. I often joke that I could be dead for a month or more and no one would know. So, social distancing and isolation will not be a problem.

I'm just back from walking the dog. I like walking in a nearby park and also the beach isn't far away. Walking daily is a big part of my normal routine. Our country now has 155 cases and officially we go into lockdown tomorrow but in my region we started on Sunday. I self isolated in the bath for three hours today ... sad about cancelling and postponing many activities, and a bit tired from doing heaps of planning for the coming weeks. I will need a haircut soon (having to wait will drive me nuts) and thank goodness I have two pianos at home ... it will be a while before the tuner comes again and fine concert tuning is essential to my sanity. I'm looking forward to making great progress in my tiny secret garden, which one of my most loved outside activities.

i live in NYC, havne't left, except to walk the dog in days... thank god i have a little home music studio, i like to paint and there is lots of cleaning and cooking i can do lol... otherwise i'd be nuts
there is actually a huge park, basically a wilderness very close by, but the dog is too old to take... may have to sneak off there today... easily can stay away from people, and the best feature of this neighborhood

In the “most Colorado move ever,” our Gov. Jared Polis said we should cut down jogging to twice a week. Hilarious and good advice. And yes, so Colorado.

We can go to parks, but there is an assumption we will keep up with physical distancing.

Either mountain lions, grizzlies, or covids are bound to get you in Colorado.

Living in the great American southwest has real advantages. Outside a lot of time. Warm weather. On the bike, walking the dogs, in the pool...life is great. Plenty of alcohol (Pendleton Whisky), rodeo on TV, freezer full...not a worry in the world. Avoiding potentially ill people is easy. Life is good. Toilet paper? Oooh I love my bidet!
