i like Joe Biden, he is very sensible when it comes to the need of having a secure border and he seems to be interested in uniting the country rather than further divide it
i also love Bernie Sanders, his message of economic equality as well as not letting the top 1% controlling the society really resonates with me
I like Elizabeth Warren as well, but i always feel she is a Bernie lite. my first choice would be Bernie.
what about you and why?
I'm center lane Democrat. Up till recently I was preferring Beto O'Rourke. Recently however I think he's drifting too far left in an attempt to try to stand out somehow. (I was completely fine with the mandatory assault rifle buyback proposal and applauded his voicing it, actually, but eliminating tax exemptions for churches on the basis of opposition to gay marriage was too much for me).
so now I'm leaning towards Joe Biden. Not because I want to, but because it feels between him and Pete Buttigieg and Pete Buttigieg comes across a little too much "Let me tell you what we
can't do" in the way he communicates his criticism of the party's left wing. Like basically, I see a distinction between saying "We can't do X" and saying "X would be nice, but we're not ready for X right now, but here are some steps that put us on that road where we might be ready for X later".
I think Joe Biden is worryingly old. I think he's prone to gaffes. I think his inability to form a proper apology for how he encroaches on the personal space of others highlights a level to which he is mired in rigid thinking.
But I also think he is an experienced elder statesman who has a long record of working with people, here and abroad, who hold different ideologies. I don't think that will in any way help him push legislation through a Republican-held senate if that's still in place in 2020 (thinking otherwise is sheer delusion), but I do think it will help him repair a lot of the diplomatic damage that Trump has inflicted through his efforts as a Russian saboteur over the last 4 years. The increasing amount of havoc he has caused is a factor in my movement towards Joe Biden.
So I guess you could say I'm still undecided between Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, and Beto O'rourke, but my lean at this point in time is towards Joe Biden.
I do not like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren's platforms, but would still support and turn out to vote for them should they (or anyone else, up to and including a lump of coal) win the Democratic party nomination
