Very ill informed/ignorant voter here.

Which candidate will save me, someone who makes around 40k a year the most money? please also list if you're a democrat or republican, and if you want explain why that candidate will save someone like me more money.

I can not seem to ever get either side to tell me that the other party will save me more money.....

You pay less taxes now, than you did under Reagan or Clinton for that matter. It's a myth, that taxes are too high now.

Just don't vote. If that's what you think is important. Don't vote.

If you don't want to bother to be informed, don't vote. You aren't helping the political system by making decisions based upon your professed ignorance.

I still do not have my answer. Need to know soon

Don't vote then. I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you. If you're worried about your damn pocketbook, then vote for whoever you want, or don't vote. No one is holding a freaking gun to your head. But I suggest you take a chance and vote, just the same. Be Wild, be daring, be BOLD. Take a Fashion risk. :biggrin1:

Im a democrat but I am voting for Romney this time because of the economy. Romeny is going to give you a 20% tax cut. Obama's plan does not include a tax cut at this point.

You know nothing of this country's history, do you? I thought not. Enjoy living in your bubble. Stay warm, and cozy.

Do you mean the economy or your own personal finances?

The economist recently suggested Obama would be a far more serious candidate with regards to the economy. Is there a factual basis to your disagreement with such an idea?

Why on earth, on today, of all days, you decide you need some kind of advice on who to vote for? If you haven't made up your mind on Election Day, then, you don't know you're own mind. It's better you stay home, then. And when 4 more years roll around, maybe you'll understand how this election, NOW, was so important. But you can't see that now. You can't see the forest for the trees.

Good point. Never mind that, the stock market has doubled, since Obama took over.

Well the economist was referring to the fact that America cannot (much to the dismay of Norquist and many other republicans) continue to not tax itself at an appropriate rate. They are saying that if America doesn't start taxing itself more, it will continue to see the credit rating reductions and decline of the economy.

So it might bother the OP, but it seems an important factor of improving the economy is raising taxes.

neither. And being british I am neither democrat nor republican and in british political terms would be an independant. Anyone except the top two, really.

Either party which tells you everything will be fine if they are elected is lying. someone has to pay and pay and pay to deal with the current crisis. Right now we are still in a situation where the government is borrowing to try to keep the show going untill the economy picks up. As soon as it does, taxes must rise. Must. The long term trends in growth have been that it is falling, things have been propped up by borrowing for 10 years, but eventually the bill falls due. The best hope is that the government can borrow enough to ride out the worst. If it cannot, then you aint seen nothing yet. Frankly, it would help if taxes were higher now, because it seems a pretty close call whether the US will run out of credit or not, and some extra income right now could make the difference. Neither side is saying they will put up taxes now, though I hear there is this legislative wall heading towards everyone right now where they are going to have to face reality and raise taxes.

So in your position, I suggest you look at each candidate and decide which group they will give most of the bill to. because the bill is coming. In my opinion, Romney would go easy on big business and thus bill small tax payers more, Obama would tend to do the opposite, but the diffrence beyween them in the end will be dictated by what is politically possible, and that might not be much difference at all.

Im a democrat but I am voting for Romney this time because of the economy. Romeny is going to give you a 20% tax cut.
not a hope in hell
