You're not missing much in the sequel, to be honest. The plot fast forwards a few years after the first run-in with The Mummy. Happily married, Edie finds herself having illusions of a past life, and figures from the past come back to cause trouble. They thwart them easily.

She wears her hair a little longer in the sequel, but she's as ever beautiful, cunning, and thankfully, not nearly as hapless the first time around.

Made me think about her when I caught a couple of Revlon commercials. Rachel talks about conveniences: cell phones, speed dial, the Internet, I think. Something about eyelashes. Wasn't paying attention.
