I didn't even see Paris is Burning on there!!! I LIVE for that movie.

I wasn't being defensive, It's just that sarcasm or irony or whatever you were going for does not translate well in print sometimes.

Yeah I just happened to be into River Phoenix at that time! What a hottie he was. :)

Long Time Companion, Boys on the Side, Into the Gloaming These three have some of the best tear-jerker, 6 tissue endings I have ever seen.

Did anyone mention Maurice or Get Real. Those are two of my favorites. Other good ones include:
But I'm a Cheerleader (quite funny)
Presque Rien (Come Undone)
Wilde
Mysterious Skin had me trembling under the covers; very good but disturbing. I loved the music.

Has anyone seen Borstal Boy? I've been wanting too see it for a while but can't find it locally. I also want to see The History Boys.

Which Party Monster did you mean? The movie, or the shockumentary? I dig them both, but I prefer the original "shockumentary" that Fenton & Barbato did back in '98. Still the best documentary on the club kid scene. Make sure to get the DVD and hear the flick with 2005 voice-over commentary by James St. James - absolutely hilarious! He was the true genius of that scene.

Dirty Videophile and Aralisian really hit the sweet spot with the great gay flix - and thank you Mulebear for remembering Parting Glances (I still get a little tear of joy watching Steve Buscemi in that film) and Cachorro, which is a great and touching film with a great bear cast - us bears gotta represent! (Great avatar you got there MuleBear, by the way - is it from an Asteríx comic?)

For the record, I don't particularly love The Wizard Of Oz - liked it enough, but not a fan. Not my kind of musical. Prefer Hedwig & The Angry Itch, or Velvet Goldmine.

Actually this inspired me for a few more:

All the Tales Of The City series ( I LOVE those! Michael Tolliver lives!)
Velevet Goldmine
Salmonberries
Taxi Züm Klo
Fox & His Friends
Querelle
Postcards From America
Tongues Untied
I'm Not From Here
Desert Hearts
Sticks & Stones
And The Band Played On
In & Out
The Living End
Trembling Before G-d
Gia
L'Homme Blesse
Dog Day Afternoon
I Shot Andy Warhol

The last two are pushing it but there is a gay sub-plot in them both (and they both are based on true events).

And I have to mention Victor/Victoria one more time - not just because it's a great film, but seeing Alex Karras play a gay bouncer/bodyguard seriously affected me as a budding gay spud - for the better, definitely!
