Let it all out here and talk about socks and how they make or break a man. Everything from calflets to knee huggers and support hose to specialty styles wiith little toe holders. Now it comes as no surprise that I find socks to be an added pleasure on a man. It's one extra clothing item which I get to remove on my way to involving completely with him. Each color and type of sock, cheap cotton, high grade cotton, wool or nylon send different signals rushing to my brain. What about you? What's your take on a pair of white socks compared to gray socks or black socks or red or polka dot or argyle or some other color or pattern of sock and is cotton more exciting to you than wool and what does nylon or a blend make you feel and think?
I don't really like socks or underwear, yet I have two drawers full of them. When I'm in Hawaii I rarely wear them. If I'm in a suit or nice trousers I wear nice knee socks. In cool weather I'm a sucker for cashmere, in the warm months I like sea island cotton. If I'm playing tennis or at the gym I wear white cotton ankle socks.
I recently posted on a thread about over-the-calf socks that for my lifestyle, socks are for black-tie or snowboard boots. Rather do without, weather permitting, like underwear. They say you can take the man off the beach but you can't take the sand out of his shoes. My decade in Palm Beach still guides me in choosing to go sockless. Ironically I have drawers full of dress and sport socks that are new or like new that I think I'll take to the thrift shop. I'll keep a few pair of nice black dress socks, a few cashmere pair, my snowboard socks and white cotton socks for the gym.
Socks are the most awful clothing you can get. Horrible to buy, horrible to see, not fun to wear. I hate them. That is why I just buy simple white, grey or black sport socks. Nothing else, don't want a motive on it.
